I went with pretty much the same concept i had before for the melon, but fixed all the serious problems it had. It was meant to be purple all along, but my old computer has serious color issues appearently, so it actually ended up being deep red.
As for the cocoa pod, it's a mutant doll's eye that goes to seed.

Regular oak leaves won't be changed in this update. Well, i might tweak them a bit, but won't make any major changes. They were already redone a while back anyway.
I am failing to understand what you are talking about with the sand bit. The texture in game is partly transparent. It is not solid, so you can see everything though it as snown in the in game screen shot.
Ie the blocks you see in said shot, IS the sand...
Thats the water image with no transparency to show off the animation. You quoted the in game shot that does have transparency and you can see the sand through it.. so I really don't have any clue what you're talking about regarding the sand.
Also again, the ref image was taken from a swimming pool. I only wanted the water 'webbing' look, not exact color.
Oh, if you're only going for the webbing look, then never mind. But what I meant was that the texture should be more saturated, and the sand should be less visible underneath the water to players looking at it.
I'm not trying to start a war here, I simply don't know where else to post considering the amount of talent I've seen on this thread:
Hello All,
I'm Felixx61, owner of a server called Dumbledore's Army which is a Harry Potter themed server. We opened last month and have grown quite rapidly. To make my request short and sweet - I'm looking for a talented texture artist to redesign multiple textures in our current resource pack to better fit our server's needs. These are mostly GUI's right now.
I'm in no urgent rush of a deadline, but I would like progress reports when able. I am willing to pay for quality work; I am a firm believer in getting what you pay for.

It always seemed strange to me when people comment on a 16x pack saying something like "This is nice! Any chance of a 32x version once you're finished?" As if we're just going to make a whole new texture pack.

I think the ones who say that don't quite understand how difficult it would be to up-scale it. Probably the ones namely exposed to packs like Sphax, though I don't know why they'd visit some of the packs they pop up on...
So, i had a really neat idea. I'd make birch leaves sort of transparent, layered over each other with the bottom most leaves showing through, and the entire texture being a bit transparent. It made sense to do this using a renderpass. Anyway, i tried it and it sort of works, but i need some help.
Look here:
This one is using a test texture of some blobs overlapping each other creating different opacities. The opacity works fine, but...
Look at the jungle trees in the background. Now, here it is without the new transparent birch texture:
Again, look at the jungle trees. In the second image, the jungle leaves are the correct texture, which use repeat ctm. In the image with the transparent birch leaves applied, the jungle leaves just use the base texture (i haven't got around to adding the new jungle leaves to the textures folder yet)
So basically, the transparent birch leaves are cancelling out my ctm on all other types of leaves. Also, it seems to have added the same renderpass layer to them, since the horizontal ctm overlay that uses renderpass 3 shows through them now.
Here's what's in the properties file:
birchleaves.propreties
Keeping this .properties file from interfering with the other leaf types, and i would also like to enable backface culling on the transparent leaves, since having them all showing through each other is a bit of a resouce hog, and creates a very unpleasent visual effect. If that's not possible, i could easily solve the issue by just increasing the opacity enough that it's opaque once it gets a few layers deep, but that's not ideal.
Also, does anyone know how to change the color overlay on melon/pumpkin stems?

I'm kind of popping up out of nowhere (I've been lurking in Resource Packs for months, a bit shy about posting), but I have a quick question that's probably best answered here in the Union's thread. I asked it a long time ago but it looks like the forum might've been split up into Discussion/Help/WIP sections after that;
I'm working on a pack, not finished of course (~70-80 blocks), and shall soon be posting the thread for it. Would it belong more in Discussion or WIP packs (and certainly not the main section I suppose), do you think? It'd be the general spot for the pack, updates, any discussion, feedback, eventually a WIP download, etc.
I drop in and have a peek at the thread every so often and everyone here has such skill! Your textures are beautiful, and across everyone's different styles too. Just wanted to add that.
And... It's okay for a (currently) non-member to ask for input on a texture, right? I was just wondering about my cobblestone;
(do ignore that horrible grass. It was an old placeholder that since been replaced twice)
It's a bit rough, certainly in need of some tweaking, and I can see at least one thing that blatantly needs to be fixed -- there's a harsh line in there next to a faint tiling error -- but I'm just glad it tiles properly after what amounted to a whole lot of adjustments and re-paints. It was worth it to get the curve right though.

Those are jungle specific oak leaves.

They do use repeat ctm.
---------------
Today i redid the pumpkin.
If you watch it long enough, the glowing one's eyes blink, but very rarely. It cycles through the base animation about a dozen times before it blinks.
I wouldn't want to make a pie from those pumpkins
Wow, a page get from that?

I might add fire to the torch, but I think most people have particles on.
13th, Those pumpkin and jack-o-lanterns are just epic.
Thoughts on it?
Could use some more shading.
Looks very bucket-fill.
EDIT: I just made a thread about some skins that I've made recently.
wow this is nice !1
any chance of a higher res? 128x would b nice
(btw, saying 16x16 packs are 16bit and 8x8 8-bit etc. is a massive pet-peave of mine)
I think, since the burnt part of the torch is so long, you should add some embers to it.
*drools*
