OK, I'm at a dead end for SB -.-
I've run dry on ideas for items/tools, and designs for the Quartz blocks. I've spent more time
working on semi-pointless texture side projects over the last few days, and having to deal with
exams, I've not had enough time to work on it.
I TRIED asking for mods that I could add support to
last time I updated the pack, for the sake of just giving me
something new to texture, but not a single response was given.
I'm asking for suggestions for mods to support, so
I can actually have something to do.
Sorry, I just don't like that side-grass - not just because you've used the top-texture on the sides, but also that layered-thing going just...it isn't doing it for me, sorry.
---------------------------
I updated my sig. (texture-related). my pack didn't have a name, and I was going to wait until I had one, but what the hell!
No-one really clicks link-only sigs, and I wanted to spice-it-up anyways :>
Y U NO LIKE!? lol jk, to each his own my friend, it's actually an idea I've had on my mind for a while and finally got to try it out I really like it

Sorry bethamez(Is it cool I call you that on here? :P) I don't know much about mods so I wont be much help, I always thought doing more weapos mods would be fun, like making emerald weapons and stuff, mayeb you can find one you wanna do, I dunno.
Anyways, Heres the fixed grass, probably not final yet but better than it was

@Sky
It's perfectly alright if you call me by my PMC name here
@Mini
Trust me, until my hands fall off or my computer turns inside out,
I'm not quitting texturing. Though I may take a break from SB until
I come up with some more ideas. Maybe I could finally do more
for this (Something I've been tinkering with, not much really)
So, I found a fantastic old pack called Splixelset, but it is discontinued, and very outdated unfortunately. So, I decided to do some textures inspired by it.
1 hour of work, don't intent to continue.
Edit: I think I actually might make some of these work in Lumino.

Okay, might as well voice my side of this before something dreadful happens.
First and foremost, I can assure you NONE of the textures thus far, or at all in my pack to come, will come from SMP's pack. While I may have developed a similar style to him, everything thus far has been entirely my work. The Birch Wooden Planks (which I despised making because they look crummy) was derived from the design that SMP uses for his. I was planning on changing it anyway, but I wanted to see if I could do anything with it.
As for the wood - sorry about that. I was looking online on various places on how to make good lookin' logs, and I found the logs that I used. I had no clue they were yours and, as can be expected, I'll be changing those. I'm extremely sorry about that, kind sir. Although, I'll have you know that the Birch Log was infact entirely pixeled by me. But, I can see that it looks strikingly similar, so I'll change that anyway.
I hope that clears things up... I hope.
---
Anyway, I've been taking everyone's critique into thought and, as it stands, the things right now I'm working on are:
Logs
Birch Planks
Emerald Ore
Redstone Ore... probably...
Sand (I actually already fixed the issue with the outline)
So... yeah... cool stuff. I'll post some updated pictures later. I might even livestream the texturin' so you guys can see that I'll be doing everything legit. (If I do livestream, I'll post again and announce it, so you guys know.)
Definitely cool that you admitted you're wrong and didn't start any drama about it. For the record, the only reason I was kinda unhappy about it is a. having the same (or really similar) textures in two diffrent packs causes a lot of drama with fans of either noticing it on the other pack and generally commenting how you 'stole' it from the other guy, regardless of who's idea it originally was, etc.
and b. it's a really bad habit to get into!
I'm happy my logs inspired you but I really think you can do better and they didn't particularly suit your packs style IMO, they looked too plastic (which is why they are no longer in my pack too, minus the jungle which I think looks pretty cool still, nice and chunky. I'm definitely happy to forgive and forget, no point fussing about this any longer!
That's what I was attempting to do, but in the process I just ended up copying him. I'm working on the Wood textures right now - infact, I just made one... but I'm not sure if it fits more as a Jungle Log or an Oak Log. Any idea?
This style is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar better suited to your pack, nice and rough without looking plasticy. Very nice! One thing of advice, try making the bark chunks on the inside a tiny bit darker than the ones in the middle. Since you have the dark edge on the outside, this will make the edge look a little less jarring and the transition will look a little more pleasing overall.

Anyways, Heres the fixed grass, probably not final yet but better than it was

Looks awesome, somewhat the same style as the leaves too, very detailed and fine textures but with a hint of something cartoony (which is really, how minecraft should look. Realism is for games not made of cubes!)

I love spixelset! I refound it recently as well (just a day or two before you in fact and was admiring the style of the textures. Really awesome style, too bad the guy doesn't work on it anymore (and hasn't for a very long time! )
His zombie texture was a big inspiration to me, really helped think of a good shape and style for the face.
*NOTE: I removed that ugly lookin' border in the "dune" part, and now I think it flows better.*
And, completely unrelated to anything, I livestreamed my creation of the Mushroom blocks! (The video is archived on my Twitch page if you feel so inclined to go watch.)

I didn't get around to doing any of the ores... I'll do those later once I get some shut-eye. lol.
Tell me what you guys think! I think I'm going to do Dirt, and Grass, and all that jazz, next.
The birch log looks out of place next to the others, the style is just too different IMO. The sand does look much better, much much smoother and yes it does 'flow better'.
I don't think I've even looked at your pack, but there's nothing wrong with abandoning a pack you're no-longer comfortable with (I did it with my 1st pack). Even if it's just a short-break. Hell, you might even be surprised as to how many people notice, and demand for an update!
I don't want to be the one to make you completely abandon texturing, or anything of the sort! NO! I'm just sayin it's okay to take a break.
Thank you! I did try not to make it too real though as I'm not into photo realism stuff

Good! Although, here and idea for mod support: Better Than Wolves!

Spidrens and planks, gonna make the gaps in the spruce a lil bit darker though. Also just assuming you can tell which plank is which.
EDIT: Fishy, those look awesome, great colour choice and hue shifting, definitely my favourite textures that I've seen from you so far!
EDIT2: I think I might use my tablet and redraw my betterskies clouds tomorrow too. The more I've been using my pack, the more I've been hating my clouds. They stand out far too much and the dithering is kinda obnoxious...
Also gonna add the nebulas and whatnot to my night sky hopefully too. Think I might be happy with all my terrain blocks for a while, good time to concentrate on those things like betterskies and animating my water and lava. (which is tremendously fun.... )

Much better on this log though, way better!
My opinion is that it's awesome!
Love the style. You work really quickly too!
Needs to be a bit darker overall and a bit less saturated. The colours just look too cheerful for a dayZ style server IMO.

First up, Wood! I re-did every Log, and I made changes to every plank type except for Spruce Planks.

*NOTE: Now that I'm looking at the picture, I'm going to re-do the Jungle Log... it looks like a huge loaf of bread to me... lol.*
Nest up, is FINALLY a Sand texture I can be happy with!

The quartz looks far too grey, try adding a creamier tone in there, it just looks really weird atm.
Also, the quartz isn't really following the cracks of the netherrack or anything, it's just glued on there. Also looks a bit weird... >.>
It's Dirt/sidegrass, Stone, Netherrack and Glowstone.
Okay.
I think I'll use the first one, 'cause I like it better and so do most of you guys (apparently)
Are we talking artist's block here?
Scary stuff man.
Scary stuff.
Yep, that's a lot better! I like it.
Good! Although, here and idea for mod support: Better Than Wolves!
That is truly awesome, please continue! Pwease!
Those are REALLY nice.
Good job!
