The purple is mycellium.
And I personally love the wood, it is my favorite texture of mine....EVER.
Also, to help everyone make a better decision on which side dirt is better, I will show them tiled with dirt.
Eh, I think the bottom one could have been done better, but it's cool to see you're trying to make it tile with dirt. I just think it varies too much. Maybe use some ctm magic to make it thicker but still have it tile with neighboring dirt blocks.
Though my pack is still VERY early on, what I have looks great in game

Really like the log design but they do have a tiling error. You can see it on the logs in the background as a horizontal line across the whole block every so often, it's probably hard to notice close up though so good luck fixing it!
I really like the planks too, even though others don't seem as fond of the style. You could always CTM the planks to only have that border on the end of the plank section (like feathers did with her stonebricks in Dragon Dance). That could certainly be interesting!

I have seen the tiling issue on the logs before, but I have been unable to fix it.
As for the planks, that is a good idea! I will try it out, though I have never used CTM before.

Yea, it looks like quite difficult to fix, especially when you're all zoomed in on the area in the editing program... It's really only noticeable from a distance though and it's not that bad.
You're gonna get addicted to CTM once you start using it, it's glorious...
Just had a random thought. I normally see logs with shading that is darker on the corners in an attempt to "round" the logs. Going with the shapes present in Minecraft however, shouldn't the corners be the lightest part? I mean, technically speaking, when light hits a corner it sort of bleeds around a bit, so why not portray that in the logs? I would test how this looks myself, but I should actually be sleeping, so that's not gonna' happen. Also, I like the minecart, especially the bottom.

Also, dirt.

Looks great! Though I agree with Spin, boxy wood is...meh
I'm still sticking with the bottom texture- looks much better in my opinion.

The large splotch in the upper lefthand corner of the Cobblestone looks strange.

I think you should use the bottom side dirt however use the horizontal CTM to sort of 'tile' with the dirt.
this took me about a month...
that would just result in concave looking logs.
make the missing row in fancy into vertical stripes.
