Do not despair!
Here is my take on your 'eyesand' (its 32x).
I tried to make the eyes appear to be bursting out of it, but obviously that did not work out.
Hey there everyone. I am applying so here it goes.
*I would like to go ahead and say that sevenfour was the original creator of this texture pack, but he stopped updating it a looong time ago so I've been updating it ever since and I have created as much content for this pack as he did, so I figure I can apply here without breaking any rules. I do have permission from him.*

As a small thank you to Zomb69 for his help with vDC, I'm working on an HD Terminator skin for him, and I was wondering what you guys think of the concept so far.
(The X's are parts that will transparent.)
The cheeks and red glowing eyes will be on the inner head layer, while the rest is is on the outer.
The only visible parts of the abdomen will be the pistons and spine (i haven't found a good picture of a Terminator's backside yet...)
I'm thinking of doing a segmented beveled-chrome material for the skin, then hand-smudging it all to give it a painted look.
Basically, it's shaped like my Skeleton mobs, except that the arms & legs have pistons and gizmos on the backs, instead of being completely see-thru.
It might be kind of hard to envision the shape in your head, but I'm hoping the transparencies give it a really cool look.
Any ideas for alternate skins, metal materials, whatever?
the lava slime (or whatever its called) comes to mind here.
Argh! now you guys have me obsessed with eyeballs in the nether! (actually, making these textures is quite fun!)
I made a quick little idea for a magma slime. I know it sucks, but its a start. It is supposed to be a tentacle covered critter with eyeballs coming out of it.
here it is 64x:
I think you should take a break after posting a texture pack, because some artist's seem to have the same style stuck in their mind for a while.Looks like you're one of them, because those textures look awfully similar to FishStipant.
I guess you're right, but I don't want to take a break. I want to make more textures! Maybe I should practice using a palette...
But I am working on yet another Texture Pack, for Gigfran's low saturation challenge. I think that one has a different style..
Does anyone know of official word from Mojang or any formal request for them to fix the allitems.png incompatibility between 1.2.5 and the weekly snapshots? Will 1.3 correct this by having a new file instead of changing the format of the old one? If not, this will be a big headache for people using or creating texture packs.
I know MCPatcher has a workaround for the issue, but many people run vanilla Minecraft.
I apologize if this is not the best place to post this. I've seen surprisingly little information on the issue, and a texture artists union seems like a good way to raise the issue to Mojang if they have not already promised a fix in 1.3.

I have not heard any word from Mojang on whether this is the case.
A lack of backwards compatibility with the allitems.png would not be surprising, as they've already done that with the terrain.png, by placing the block of emerald where the chest used to be.
As usual, it looks like it'll be up to the MCPatcher to fix this. Most texture packs make use of the features in the MCpatcher, so people who don't use it are missing out anyway.
It's redstone dust in a hole, if you didn't notice it
Try and remember where the texture is going to be displayed. On the sides, having the dust pile down the bottom of the texture makes sense.
However, not on the top of the texture. Why would the redstone be piling towards the south?
It wouldn't on the bottom of the texture, either. Why wouldn't the redstone just fall out?
I know with CTM you can change one of the block faces, like changing the Jukebox depending on whether it's on or off, by it's block ID. Does anyone know with CTM if you can have each side of the block have a specific texture? So the top of the block would always have one texture, the sides would always have one texture, and the bottom always has one texture?
If so, you could see if you could do something with that, Fishy, to see if it makes it look cool
honestly, the growth stages are kind crappy, but this is their third and best form. who cares about growth stages, right? its the final stage that everyone sees.
Haven't seen it. Anyway, I just made those for fun.
How? I quite like them
Do not despair!

I like vivid more.

I would like IRON protection
and here are some screens:
Nice! Hope you get accepted.

Mind showing me?
.. He already did.
Edit: And just trust his opinion, don't argue. Hes a talented texturer that's been doing this for a while
I do trust him. Just before it looked desaturated.
Looks quite good. Although, I'm not so sure on the redstone ore.
I think I can see why.

I really like it but I find the redstone ore to be a little odd.

We're not the fastest or most efficient of people.....
