Anyone want to pixel challenge? We set a really short time and color limit and each make a texture and see whos is better :tongue.gif:
Alanay and I did a quick wood texture one. Working under a set time is harder than I thought :c. I always just like block in colors and throw pixels everywhere and then spend like half an hour cleaning it all up and making it look nice, but oh well.

I like yours better, but his would be more practical in-game imo.

I don't see how its blurry... Can you clarify?
Maybe its not blurry for me...

You put so many colours around the stones themselves. Maybe if you made the area between the stones and the cracks more defined and more drastic, it might look less blurry... If that make sense.
@ happy! ooh. I like the lower right hand corner one the most, second is the upper right hand, mostly like the color variation going on there!
Also about using 'colors' in your pixels... Just to let you know, Chromatose uses a palette combination of 20 colors treated as if you would paint... Mixing and twisting the hue and chroma and shifting values! Because you choose x'odd colors as a palette for your objects, doesn't mean you shouldn't try mixing them around with various opacities and you'll see that there is a full spectrum to play with!
I appologise if I somehow iritated you there with that little rant, I've taken to digital painting using altered concepts based on classical painting with analog media.
I figured why not, besides I'll probably do the same I did with the creepers and slime, and create some with hue variations... Besides, I think it'll look beastly in the nether XD
Am I the only one who wishes redstone lamps had a different crafting recipe? Much too simple IMO :/ it seems like glowstone dust needs to be in it (not the block)... but then it makes it too valuable of a source because you can make 4x as much, but then again you need redstone (and I think the recipe should involve cobblestone or iron or something for the frame, maybe glass, too).... but then it still doesn't explain how it goes "off"... ughh 3x3 crafting grid is not good enough to craft everything... I really hope it gets a better crafting recipe somehow :sad.gif:

Also, I thought I would do some sprite work today. I tried to imitate the final fantasy 3 style. Do you think these are successful in their attempt?
(11 colours)
Looking good, however I would suggest spicing up the outlines a bit. Have them be more specific to whatever thing they're outlining, instead of having just one outline colour used everywhere.

His looks more like wood, yours like stone. Yours still looks nicer, though.
Also, you competition-thing sound like fun. :tongue.gif:

I would have used more colors but I had restrictions cuz i made that for a challenge me and Lilyo had :tongue.gif:
Also I repeat, anyone have catacomb snatch? I wanna try the multiplayer :biggrin.gif:

Thanks. ^^ It's for my 32x res pack, so the dimensions of the skins are 128x64
LESS DO EET.
..I wonder how to do it though D:
With all these winky faces its starting to get intimate :ohmy.gif:
xD
edit: @unhelpful Hmmm... The water probably is too dark still, trying to use the custom colors and I thought it was a nice blue.
but still it might get redone here soon... thinking it moves too much personally.
