Levaunt (or anyone), I need help with giving the stone depth. :L
Well with out changing it completely here's what I did to it really quick:
Mostly made the shadows a little darker, and removed a color from it so it's more of an abrupt change from the elevated rock, rather than a smooth transition. Also tried to do a little of the same with the highlights, there was one too many colors and AA areas, only fixed a few of them in the middle rocks though.
Also removed some of the dithering. It doesn't work so well with these kinds of rocks, they should appear to have sharp corners. Those are my opinions on it anyway.

Would you recommend I change anything about the new stones?
So, made things darker and less bright, and added some more textures.
If I get it released, it may be called BrownPixel.
I like the name. :tongue.gif:
Mind naming each one? I'm not sure which ones are for which textures... :S
The log bottom/top looks a tad bit weird. I dunno what it is about it, but it doesn't exactly look RIGHT to me... The texture to the right of it (the planks, I'm guessing) are interesting. I can't say I'm the biggest fan of plank textures that "never stop". Although, I do quite like the sand! Just the right amount of contrast, methinks... Or something. O_o
Can anyone explain to me how to make custom animations? Im taking a break from these 32x resolution textures and going back to my lovely Dither Delight :smile.gif:
I was going to, but I was busy attending to people's requests for the name of the texture pack in the Yogscast's latest adventure map video. :[

Grass, smoothstone, dirt, sidegrass, stone slab side, stone slab top,
Cobblestone, badrock, sand, log side, log top, wooden planks.
The log top looks fine to me, thought it might be that the log has those cracks, while the top is just kind of flat. :/
The planks are probably just preference, so nothing wrong there.
Sand was positive feedback anyway.
I'm not sure I like the named. I want it to have brown in the name, but can't think of a nice way to put it in. :/

I forgot how much i love working on this pack.
It's quite easy. Here's an example:
The file name is custom_terrain_32.png. The number at the end is the location of said texture. So, if you were to animate the top of a grass block, it'd be custom_terrain_1.png. Easy, right?
To actually animate things, you just kinda keep repeating the block with whatever changes you want to add to it in at least one of those blocks. I would advise repeating the changed textures a few times because the animation is REALLY FAST.
So, I was told I could find help and support here.
Despite my account's age, I've been following Minecraft and texture packs for some time now. (Obtained Minecraft in Indev)I've also been texturing for a long time now, but up till now, they were only personal remixes of popular packs. This 2012, I've started a serious, full texture pack which I hope to finish in the near future.
Currently, I've been looking for a group of like-minded artists in which I may mingle and gain support from. Not only that, but I really need help with texturing in general, and for technical tips.
Since this is a texturer's group, here are some pics of my WIP texture pack. (Daytime shots too!)
This is a shot of the swords I've textured, the furnace, and the chest. You can also see the cobble and wood.
Typical landscape featuring trees and sherries!
A shot of the back part of my medieval keep, presenting the stone brick and windows.
A street shot, with a clearer view of the wooden door.

It'll be an honor for you to have me. :smile.gif:

Your pack looks very nice, we would love to have you. I'll just confirm with some of the other admins :3
In any case you should also specify what emblem you would like as well; you can find the list of the emblems in the first post :3
Okay, I discussed it with another admin and you are now approved, welcome to the Union! What emblem would you like?
Looks to me like you just took a reference image and skewed it a bit. Doesn't matter if you actually made those yourself, you still somehow made them look like a complete copy paste lol. The outlines are all wobbly and uneven and the mushrooms themselves look distorted.
This is what they need to look like, where they're pretty much pointing up, instead of being skewed to the left or right, because pretty much all mushrooms point straight up.
I would even add a few tiny mushrooms like so (you can use this design if you want)
Second, your shadows aren't very good and the mushrooms look VERY flat cause of that.
Look at how a mushroom is shaded.
I see what you mean. I think I shall redo them to make the mushroom caps all point up. I'm sad it looks like a copy-paste, I spent a couple hours on em :/
Anyway, I always love your feedback because it really helps me learn how to fix the issues that the texture in question has. I do have one more question though.... as far as the shading, could you explain that piece a bit more? I don't want to start on some new mushrooms and see that I've gone and done it all wrong again :tongue.gif:
Ummm I just tried to make grass today and for some reason I'm feeling like I failed miserably.... I think I can see a tiling issue in it though don't know if my eyes are deceiving me or not.
Can anyone help clarify what Lilyo meant about the shading and lighting on mushrooms? I want to make a new set of brown mushrooms but I want them to look as real as possible and I didn't quite understand what he meant about shading/lighting on them. See the bottom of page 602 for further clarification.

I see a slight tiling issue in a line right down the middle, the highlights seem to line up. Which isn't a bad thing, but it's a bit distracting.

I also wanted the name to be something that I understood without having to google.
"Shades of Brown," possibly?
I kinda like it.
There's yet more to come!
You had to google it? Thats Brown Blasphemy! Anyway heres names I got:
Brown Benevolence (Duhh)
Brittle & Brown (Because the textures are rough)
The Brown Pack (Simple, yet sweet :smile.gif:)
Brown Eyed
I could think of more, but Im sleepy. Merf.

Okay that might work!
Yeah I am not too good at drawing mushrooms. My red one is good but I wanted to make a brown one that was like a mushroom colony-esque thing.
I see what you mean. I think I shall redo them to make the mushroom caps all point up. I'm sad it looks like a copy-paste, I spent a couple hours on em :/

I just love it when people have different shapes for their different swords :3
EDIT: my title is now "Pathetic Meme" wtf?
