Quick question for anyone that still checks this thread: there is a door file in the items folder that only shows part of wooden double doors... What is this file for? Just to show how double doors would look? If I've edited doors in the actual textures folder do I still need to change the way this door file looks to match the textures or will it not make a difference? Sorry for the noob question

Here is said door file
It's unused and I think it was removed in the 1.6 resource pack update (I think they took out a lot of unused textures). You can ignore it, if it's still around.
Does anyone know where I can find an example resource pack containing everything?
There are a few templates floating around the Texture Discussion, though I can't make any claims as to their level of completion. Your best bet would probably be to look in an updated .jar.

Hey! I really love your tips you've got on here, I'm definitely using them. Anyway is there some way i can see everything you have posted at once instead of sifting through lots of posts? I'm just starting out on texturing and this is the most professional thread I've seen with genuine tips on everything. Definitely bookmarked. I'm just looking for something all in one, nice organised place. I completely understand if you aren't finished I was just curious if that existed! Keep up the good work, us n00bs appreciate it.
i was wondering cuz i havent seen it any where else and i was thinking that here was the best place to put it is there a way to get rid of the enchanted animation altogether
Hello I'm Sorno, and I really need to know is there any way (besides mods) to make your texture go beyond what the block presets are. Like if I want my armor to go our a bit further or my spider jockey's spider to have 4 legs instead of 6? Can I do that somehow?

How do I make a texture pack that highlights blocks on hover? you know, like MC Classic used to do it.
Example of what I mean -
There's no way to do that with the current texture pack system. Sorry, but what you're asking isn't possible.
welp, that sucks
how about something similar? I'd rather be able to count blocks by "highlighting" them than do tile-like textures for grass/stone/whatever

You could try Paint.Net (free)

This is teaching you how to make a texture pack, which may or may not involve pixel art.
