On Swords
It's kinda weird for the gold sword to have the simple steel handle when the actual steel sword's got this golden decorated one. Maybe you could switch the handles?
On Gold
You've probably seen this, but due to the general uselessness of gold tools, a lot packs have the gold tools resemble, say, scepters, stacks of gold bars, coins, moneybags, treasure... I'm certain you could make some pretty neat-looking treasure out of them.
On the same note, you could also be quite original with the wooden tools. Some packs make them household items, like wooden spoons and forks, cups. If you wanted to show off your pixel art, you could make them into staffs with ornately detailed heads. It would confuse players starting new worlds without bonus chests, though. 'Course, you're the pixelartist here, and you decide what to make. Tools or spoons, they'll probably look good either way.

I saw a post once where someone demonstrated using CIS to make enchanted swords look unique. So my idea is making the base steel sword a little simpler, and enchanting it gives you this magnificent decorated one. How's that sound?
Keep up the good work, this is gonna be a great 'un.

The reason I have an iron handle on the gold sword is because I think it looks better than gold on gold. I'm going to keep the iron sword as it is, because I really like how it looks, but I might use the enchantment idea thingy. That seems cool.
I have already made the golden nuggets look like coins. I want the ingots to look like ingots so I'll keep them as they are.
I might make the tools scepters and such as you suggested, that is a good idea.
Very stunning pixel work. You've nailed the theme and palette, so I'll focus on critiquing more minor things. I didn't read through the thread, so I apologize if I repeat anything already said.
While well executed, I can't picture what the ore blocks are supposed to be. The shape and highlights don't make sense, save for coal and redstone.
I love the faces on the dispenser/dropper, need more! However they are a bit too similar, and could be hard to tell apart.
The leaves could use a little work, right now they look a little too flat / not like leaves.
The jungle logs look odd and puggy, but perhaps are better in-game. And the jungle planks are very jaggy inbetween each plank.
The bedrock(?) seems too stand out from everything else. It's perhaps too dark, or too much contrast. I really like your stone colors, and feel that muted purple shadow would work great as the maximum darkness any texture could get.
As for more positive feedback. I really like signpost and whatever texture it's next too. You should add some more quirky things like this into the pack. There've been so many packs that do similar things with textures, more stuff like this could help yours stand out.
Again the palette is awesome, and if you aren't already I wouldn't add any more colors to it.
The swords look good, and I would personally request you stick with the 'no outline' aproach!
All in all it's looking great, and I hope you can finish it, or at least get it to a releasable state.

This is a really pretty texture pack! ! I hope you find the time to finish it so we can test it in game! :-)
Just a note: I am blogging about your texture packs (the others are pretty awesome, too), and wanted to use your banner / an image from heartstone's palette to link to your texture thread. Is that cool with you?
First of all, thanks for the compliments!
It's awesome that you are blogging about my packs, I really appreciate it! Of course you can use my banner / an image to link.
I would also really like a link to your blog!
Yeih! :-) Yes, well, I do a little Minecraft thing every Monday - or at least I used to and I'm now rekindling it ^^ So the post will be live on Monday: fangirled.wordpress.com :-D
I love the old arcade feel on your stone textures reminds me of metal slug. My only qualms with the pack would be the ores, which people have mentione before. I would start to hate lapis ore in game a lot more with this pack, it is too close in size/color to the diamond ore. Maybe it's the turquoise which isnt turquoise enough and the blue lapis is not blue enough xD
Also looking forward to see the rest of your sandstone, probably my fav building block, and yours is turning out great.
Edit:
Actually, on second thought emerald, diamond and lapis all stick out since you don't have "support" of their palette anywhere else in the pack. Or you could look at it the other way around: the other ores have too much palette support elsewhere in the pack.
I don't think the gold ore/items needs the amount of brightness it has, your logo is proof of that, where the brightest part (horizon) is not as white/bright as the highlight on the ore. I realise that the logo has a much more limited palette, but I still believe the highlight on at least the ore is too bright, makes it look more like copper. But I can also see the reason as to why you have those 3 brighter pixels on the ore, without them, the gold ore would start looking like other blocks, clay for example.
Sorry that I can't be of any help maybe try and experiment with the yellow color in your hay bale / orange in your pumpkin? I really don't know, lol
Edit2:
Tbh it looks good as it is, and I really shouldn't talk when I don't even have the guts to make my own gold ore.
That is the most creative mob spawner I have ever seen. I feel like mob spawners are one of those textures where artists get stuck in a rut, so to speak. It's one of the game's more non-descript textures, and people tend to stay close to the default with some sort of cage, usually somehow including a skull or a monster mouth.

Good work!
Thanks for the kind words, but there is a skull on it.
Can't wait until I can give this pack a play. Really like how things are turning out! Can't believe how much has been done so far!
Hey everyone, I'm back!
Have patience! And thanks for the kind words!
Because it's not released.

Might change in the future.

Only issue I can see is that there's no way to tell what's actually spawning.
That's the point >:3
Well, I 'spose it's not that bad as long as creeper spawners aren't put in the game!
But anyways that is an awesome idea for a Spawner. Keep it up man, Heartstone's really warming up!
Thank you!
