I was wondering if you would be interested in making it possible for the user to decide (while in the customize tab) whether or not they have to select each individual wool texture, or if they could just pick the wools from a single pack, that way if they want to change all the wool from one pack to another (or from one pack option to a provided alternate) they do not have to choose all 16 wools individually.
Bug: if the same texture is both in favorites and in the favorite pack in the customizer, and favorites is unchecked, the texture is removed from the customizer.
Also, there doesn't seem to be any way to unfavorite individual textures.

Haha wow quite the route to get that bug. But yeah i'll fix that.
Also, to delete an individual texture just drag it to the lava bucket. If you favorite your own texture and then drag it to the lava can, it will only delete it from your favorites. Once no longer a favorite, if you drag your own texture into the lava again, it will appropriately delete it from the database.

That lava bucket has a learning curve.
Edit: Perhaps if instead of a green and red dot on the texture you had the chest and bucket
not sure how i could simplify it. You just drag stuff into it to destroy it. Pretty simple to me.
Nah, he's right. It isn't intuitive to think that dragging a favorite into the lava bucket will unfavorite it. We should create a separate drag-to icon for unfavoriting.
No, I mean that dragging and dropping isn't internet-standard. Nobody is expecting it, especially since it is completely hidden until you do it. Once you learn it, it makes everything easy, but you need the right cues in the right places.
For example, if the chest were to appear at page load and fade out, on pages where texture collection is possible. (and the bucket as well where trashing and unfavoriting may occur)

Yeah unfortunately you are right. Nobody does this. I think its a shame the internet standards bar is set so low. We tried doing some cool stuff in the site that would give it more flare compared to all the other boring, static sites out there.
OK, I'm in. Still working it out, but I'm in :biggrin.gif:
EDIT: I tend to put alternate textures into an unused slot of the terrain.png. Is this supported? If not, will it be?
Good!
No i don't think so. Previously, alternate textures included separately in your zip made sense because that was the only way users could get a different version of your pack. Our site is aimed at making inconveniences like that obsolete. Just upload all of your alternates (look at the Getting Started page for tips) and the user gets to decide what they want right on the site. No need for any user to know how to edit the images themselves. This is why we created the site.
Edit: Perhaps if instead of a green and red dot on the texture you had the chest and bucket
That makes sense. I wonder if the chest would show up well when it's that small. As far as a lava bucket...the idea of it doesnt really mean it belongs to you. Maybe just an empty bucket or a water bucket?
Adding a way to verify whether a pack is the official version and not one of the dozens of 'painterly' remixes. that way when you visit the page their could be a water mark placed by a moderator indicating this is the original/official.
Mostly done. Right now we just have to manually select which ones are 'Official'. Also, any texture you try to upload that matches one in an Official pack will not be uploaded.
How do you guys feel about having the ability to create a unique url for any download?
Basically, when customizing a pack (doesn't matter where, pack page or favorites customizer) instead of just clicking the download button to download the pack, you can optionally get a unique url for that specific download so you can share it anywhere with anyone. This replaces the need for some weird key that gets output in a text file that you then have to copy, find the page on the site where you put that in, paste it in, and then click to download.
Actually this wasn't really a question, more of a heads up. :biggrin.gif: (if you'll just give me a few more minutes)

If you can see this, then yes.
I saw the lava bucket as more of a "this is trashable" icon. I guess the icon most representing possession of a texture would be paper or map.
Oh, and for flipped shovels, that's where they are flipped over the vertical axis so it looks somewhat like you are using it correctly instead of whacking the ground. Not a bad idea for a feature, but I prefer whacking personally.

hahaha. that could be a possibility.
I'd like to hear more input about our whole deletion/favorite process to see what things we can iron out, and also of course what are some good icons to use as favorite/"yours" indicators?
Alright, well now that I've actually tried unfavoriting, it don't work. Tells me I can't delete that texture. Looks like you'll have to give that area some more love too.

Oh wow....that script was nasty wrong. Thanks for letting me know. It is now fixed.

This brings up a point,
What about official remixes? Thinking of Quandary/Coterie (or even Doku/gerudoku/jadoku) specifically. Some of the textures are going to be the same, And what if either of the parties decide to use some of the other's textures?(with permission)
I'll add that in to Account Settings
