Hey Uniblue.
I absolutely LOVE your textures, and have been using the 128x DR for a long time. I have a couple of questions I hope you can answer:
1. These days everyone is talking about normal map, bump map, speculair map and parallax occlusion mapping to make their textures look better. I use Chocapic13 shader which is implementing the POM effect in his recent updates. Do you know which of these effects depends on the texture, which depends on the shader? I see that you are making your texturepack to work with normal map. Does that mean that it works with all these other effects as well? What is the difference btw between normal map and bump map? And also are you still working on the Default realism version? I see that it says coming soon when i click the normal map version for 128x DR. I hope you could enlighten me on this subject.
2. I am playing with some mods, and have created some 128x textures to go with these (especially the Galacticraft mod). They are not by far as good looking as yours but is better than the look of your 128x together with the normal 16x. For some of the textures i have simply rescaled the image in photoshop with nearest neightbour, added noise (which kind of gives them 128x details) and also added the Unsharp edges to improve the details a bit. For other i have paintet details, made shadows, and rounded corners. Do you have any advice/hint to how i can improve this method the slightest? Im not aiming for the quality that you create because I know I don't have the skill nor time to achieve that result, but just a couple of hints along the way?
Here are some of the textures i made/remade from yours:
As you can see i haven't done much job with the machines, and they are quite flat and without shadowing (except the electric furnace in the second last frame).
And also, according to the copyright regulations in your first post: Can I share any of my textures with other people using R3D.Craft with the mods that I use? I didn't quite get how to go about that. For example the additional Tin/Copper/Aluminium/Silicon ores are using your original stone background (third and fourth frame). And for the dirt_podzol side block (first frame) i used your original dirt block for the background part. (see pic above). You are probably going to make a much better dirt_podzol block than i have when you update for 1.7.2 The rest of the machines has been scaled up from the original textures for the mod so i guess i have to talk to the creator of the mod for them. But would you be ok if i when im done, posted my textures for download in a post in this thread, or on the Galacticraft site, stating that it is an add-on to your texture pack and linking back to this thread?
Thank you very much for your hard work. I watched some of your speedpainting videos and man are you putting a lot of love into these textures! It is amazing!

The minecraft always crashes wen i using the R3D 512x512 (blue glass pane fixed). I has got any mods.

You probably havn't set minecraft to use enough ram. It seems that you have only given it 1gb to work with which is to low for 512x textures. In the minecraft launcher you can set the max amount of ram for minecraft to work with. I think you at least need 2gb for 512x textures.
Also next time you post a log, post it like this:
[spoiler] *log goes here* [/ spoiler] (without the space between the / and spoiler). That way the thread is easier to scroll through, and people who want can click the spoiler button to view your log.
Only some of the textures are working for me, ive done everything you are meant to do and every other texture pack i have is working perfectly, heres some images to show what i mean: http://imgur.com/a/3hVhN

Sadly Uniblue media has not completely finished this texture pack, so yes, there are missing textures. Unsure when he might update it, im hoping he hasnt given up

Nowhere did it say it was WIP and it isn't in the WIP section, well that sucks off to find a finished texturepack then i guess.
When can we expect to see an update for this awesome texture pack, or, like many other texture packs, has this also been abandoned?
Thomas, Uniblue, mentioned on the pack's Facebook page in the beginning of February that he would be to busy for about six weeks to work on the pack due to real life stuff. He should hopefully be back in a couple of weeks or so.
The one thing I am patiently watching and waiting for is modpack support for DW20 or the like. I am not trying to pressure this or anything. Just making sure this is out there, and that some of us are waiting for your awesome textures to be more usable for us that play modded. Thus far I am using other packs while I wait.

Having a problem when using this resource pack it loads fine, but lettering and numbers appear to be strange lines, making them unreadable, even with or without MCPatcher.
Edit: This happens on both the default realism and smooth realism.
Hello... I'm just wondering, I tried 512x for both smooth and default realism, but when I choose them, my mc launcher automatically jumps back to the original texture.... any idea why?
Hello fellow minecrafters. I am sure this has been answered and I missed it, if so my bad. But when I try to use any of the R3D.craft SR shaders packs with minecraft nothing happens. I did see that he mentioned, "
it still needs to wait on an update from the developers behind the shader mods, to fully work with 1.7.4."
Does this mean that it does not work at all in 1.7.4 or 1.7.5? I just want to make sure I am not doing something wrong. Thanks. P.S. Other HD packs have worked.
I'm not sure if this has been noted or asked or anything, but both smooth and default realisms are missing the clouds texture for x64. I saw from the logs that they should be added. Are they just missing in the zip or are they only available from the higher tiered packs?
I'd recommend at least 3GB assigned. My Minecraft sits at around 2.5GB when using 512x512 textures and I assign 4GB of RAM, so:

Here is my Minecraft RAM usage when using R3D 512x on a single player map, btw:

That is very good news. Thanks.
