Default has more default abiding textures e.g. They follow some of the 16x shapes from the original vanilla texture pack.
Smooth doesn't follow the default items as much, instead all lines are smoother and more 'realistic' if you like
Hi UniblueMedia.
I downloaded the latest packs and there seems to be a problem with torches, levers, redstone torches etc. I dont know if this is just me or anyone else has this problem.
I attached relevant images below.
Thanks.
Sorry forgot to mention the problem.
As you can see there seems to be a border around the outer edges of the torch or lever.
I'm using default realism 128x.
The problem is almost gone with the smooth realism pack but still noticeable when the item is rotating ingame.

From how the blocks smooth out the farther they are I am going to guess you are using optifine. If you are using optifine then this is an issue with one of optifines options but I am not sure which one. Just disable them one by one until it is fixed.

Yea it was actually optifine. At the moment I cant be bothered looking at what setting causes it but will investigate this more.
Thanks for the reply.
Hai general_207 is there any chance you can get all the textures you made and put them in 1 download for each size (64x 128x) so we can just drag and drop all of the textures in? That would be awesome!
I will be making the textures in 512x then I will lower the resolution all the way to 32x.

Go to quality in your video settings and turn anisotropic all the way down to off. That fixed it for me.
I re installed my system and got Minecraft up and running and decided to get your texturepacks, I got 5 of them, and after going through the annoying ads and offers I got them installed and started using them. After a while I decided to conduct my routine virus scan and 5 objects were found, all five of them were in the r3d craft installers I deleted them and fixed the threats but I am infuriated to say the least, I understand the need for the offers, money and all but to choose a installer that has malicious threats on it, is just wrong.
First, what are you using for virus detection.
Second, These people take the time and effort to put this together if your statements false then that's a rather rude one to make.
Third, Depending upon how the installer actually installs the texture related content the anti virus may catch it as a virus because it is "Installed in a way that can be harmful to a computer if you don't know the author of the content or what content is in the installer" I quote that to make it obvious of the part to pay attention to.
ALWAYS give actual proof that a virus scanner is picking it up as a virus, and make sure it's not a false positive.
Skip anything that gives offers... just a btw.. mayhap use the curse installer...

Well, the installers are removed now, due to such conflicting with the rules on this site. The installers has never been harmful. They contained adware and advertising add-ons that may trigger various virus-scanners, being detected as "viruses" and "Trojans".
When I choose the 512x default realism my game pauses for a few seconds and then never chooses it. why is that? say I'm in the default minecraft texture and I try to select the 512x it will just remain the default. I've tried re-downloading it too. Also the fern in a flower pot has a black and purple texture.

The pause you're experiencing is just the game loading up all those big texture files, just wait a couple of minutes - it will happen.
As for the black and purple texture, I had the same issue (I think it's something to do with the compression)
To fix, go into the resource pack's folder (the [1.6.2]_R3D.CRAFT_Default_Realism_512x_v0.1.1.zip) and then go to assets>minecraft>textures>blocks and open up the problematic texture in paint.net, photoshop, or really anything that allows for image resizing. In paint.net (that's what I use, anyways) go to Image>Resize and set the Resampling to Nearest Neighbor, check 'By absolute size:', uncheck 'Maintain aspect ratio' and change the width & height to 512x512. Click okay and you're good. The trouble you're probably having is that the texture was 512x511 or something similar. Edit:I just checked the folder; it appears that the sapling texture isn't there yet. I would try copying the texture over from the default pack and putting it into the resource pack manually. Strange that it does that though, the game should replace all missing textures with their default counterparts automatically.
I don't think anyone's made a program for backwards conversion yet; you're best bet's going to be getting a default texture pack for 1.5.2, resizing it to 512x, and manually cutting + pasting the textures into their new, stitched together forms.

Simply put, they are pretty self explanatory.

Redownload the pack if you have not.

Agreed. I used Ubuntu (Linux) for awhile, and WINE really does suck... It does work for some things, but in general it sucks...
