Every texture in my pack is made from scratch.
The dirt texture has some effects applied to a texture I already had, but that original texture was already mine anyways.
You can't use photo textures with 16x or 32x packs. Well, you can, obviously, but it will be a mess. There is no place for details. So, the only way for low-res packs is so called pixel-art. Good stuff if you ask me, but not good for HD. With HD you got to use photos. You can paint the textures, but this is what I call waste of time (even if the result is great, like Ovo's). And I really don't see anything wrong with using some textures and photos from free stocks. They are there for use after all.
PS
I guess I more interested in results than in ability to say 'I did it all by myself'. Users should be interested in this too. And everything else matters little.

It takes skill to create a masterpiece, it takes a thief to snap a picture of the masterpiece and call it his own.
THAT is what people care about.
Well, I get downloads, so people use it. And I like to play Minecraft with it myself. This is what I care about.
Well, for the sake of preservation of artistry, would you mind at least TRYING to make your own textures? Or at least make the disclaimer more noticeable that you have stolen artwork comprising much of this pack.
I liked this pack, but never noticed that part in the OP that states you stole textures from random places on the internet. Really, that drastically lowers the respect I have for you and the texture.

I understand the point you are trying to make but not everyone is an artist. Like myself if i ever made a texture pack at this resolution i would have to use some photos (sadly) because i have no talent in art. Seems as though I would at least try to start editing out one by one but i would fail miserably, therefore I do not try. :biggrin.gif:
Ok, I will make several points right now and it will be the end of this conversation from my side. I don't really care about snobby artists, their opinion and respect. I need opinion of users of the pack. But I feel like I need to clear the air a little.
- It's possible that I stole some photos or textures. I do not proud of it and I was trying to use free sources. But it could have happened. I do not make a profit out of it and I care little about legal stuff, so deal with it.
- I see no point in making my own photos, photo-textures or painty-textures if there are thousands already. Free and ready for use. No point at all.
- I made it clear from the begining and it's not my fault if someone can't read. I never pretend to be more than I am, and I never claim anything as my own besides the pack itself.
- The pack is the only goal. Think of it as mosaic (if you are artsy type), which is nothing in pieces. Or as music, which is nothing in separate notes.
- I picked nice pieces, arranged it in right order, made tileable and gather into pack. I did plenty of editing to make it look as I like to. Somewhere more, somewhere less, but still.
- As long, as I feel like doing so, I will continue the work. And as long, as you download it, I will make the updates.
- Like it - use it. Don't like it - don't use. It's simple as that.
I'd say the main reason you are being argued at, besides "artistic integrity", is that the members of the Texture Packs section like to see unique work.
Most people can take pictures from the internet (though it sounds like you did put some work into this, making it tile etc), and put it on a terrain.png. If people got into their heads that this was a perfectly legitimate way to make a texture pack, then we'd start to see a flood of texture packs that all look pretty much the same.
However, most people have in their head that you have to draw, or use other artistic techniques, to create a texture pack. So if everyone did that, even if everyone was crap, they would all produce a much wider variety of works.
So while other people would like you to start from scratch and create your own work, I personally would like you to just try out your abilities, see what you can do. Make little edits to these textures, see what those do, and try and make this unique :smile.gif:

I did enormous edits to most textures. You probably will not be able to identify the original in some cases. And if texture is good as it is, I most certainly will not modify it (very much) because it will make it worse.
New: Added GLSL shaders compatibility. Maps are full, but some fixes might still be needed. Also, it's very possible that I get carried away with speculars. Didn't have much time to test everything so feel free to post any ugliness you'll find. You will not be able to enjoy shaders in full though, because GLSL mod have minor issues with mip-mapping and major with AA version of OptiFine. So you got to choose. I personally choosed OptiFine AA for now, but I pretty sure there will be full support between this two mods sooner or later. Anyway, maps are ready and included in full pack.
Also added palm, gold armor, slimes, experimental smoke particles and several fixes which you probably will not notice.
Equilibrium v. 0.9.3 [116 Mb]
Full version of texture pack with Randomobs and GLSL Shaders support.
Ok. Thanks. I found nothing with NOD32 as well. There is no place for virus really, but who knows... I guess it was cupcake cat's "joke" of very special kind.
Here is everything you need to know. Take mod here. Then follow this and this.
In few words: GLSL mod must be installed after all other mods. Shaders must be from folder which contains 'bump' in its name. You'll find alternative shaders in mod archive: Shaders-Windows\Shaders\mods\shaders\alternative shaders. Maps are included in full pack already, so you don't need to worry about that.

I'm sorry to be a nuisance Noise, however I love this pack too much not to. I must request a decorative glowstone, the current ore-styled one simply doesn't look right when used as lighting in a lamp, chandelier, sign, etc. That said though I still love you and this pack, I've loved it since day one and still do now.
Also here's another picture of the pack in action.
I can make some alternative for Customizer. Not sure how soon I'll get time for this, but I'll keep it in mind. Some screenshots with examples of how people use glowstone can help me a lot. It still need to be embed in stone somehow, so I can't lose it completely, but I'll see what can be done.
PS
Oh, and this is no problem at all. I need this kind of feedback to make pack better.

What antivirus do you have? What virus it catches? There is only png's in archive, so I don't know what possibly can go wrong. Can someone confirm it?
