I don't know what it is about your new style, but I love it This style is so much better than the previous style you had, which was somewhere around v19-v22, a couple of versions after Islands of Survival. Your iron door isn't that bad. I also don't know what it is about your diamond/emerald blocks, but I love them.
You are missing the Minecraft logo. Not sure if that's intended, or not. I think you should randomize your dirt block, putting some bits of pebbles here and there. Maybe you can do what you did with your stone, make some of the dirt smooth and clean, and others cracked and chunky. Speaking of dirt, I loved the old one, but it just doesn't match the new texture. In other words, you should change your snow side and your mycelium sides.
I'm glad you've settled on the new stone; you changed it so much over the years. I actually love the new texture, too. I think the random textures is a good way to go. You don't need to worry about half of the tiling errors you used to worry about (Of course, you should still make the textures seamless), and it won't be too boring to look at because of all of the variations.
Overall, I'd like you to continue with your new style of texturing Happy new year!

Thanks. Glad you like the new stuff. The dirt is something I'm going to be working on as part of the flora rework, which is coming next. It will be very randomized with lots of interesting things scattered around in it, buried, like stones and roots. I didn't bother to match it to stone and mycellium sides because I knew I'd be changing it soon.
Within the next week I'm going to start seriously asking around for more FTB artists. You know any good forum threads or people?
i dont like how the creepers feet are so wierd. can you make the feet a little better.i dont like how the creepers feet are so wierd. can you make the feet a little better.
I'm not sure which I like more. V.26 or V.27. The first few screens of V.27 are superior then the other one, I really love the clean look instead of the bricks; The font is nice as well. Easy to read.
To me, the Stone-brick went from flawless/intact to more broken and heavily used. Here's a comparison shot.
There's cracks everywhere, dents which I personally don't really like but tastes differ per person. I'm leaning back to the old version myself, but will make up my mind after using it some more.
One of the wood pieces also went much darker, though bear in mind the slight time difference there. It isn't that dark as the screenshot shows, but it's still a good bit darker then what it was. To me, it went from "Bright and Clean" to "mid-bright-leaning-to-dark and used."
Dirt changes? Love it. Absolutely great. Diamond ore block change? Fantastic. It's just drawing me towards it whenever I see one glowing in the dark.
All in all, I love most changes (I have yet to compare it all). I'm just not convinced by the new stone-brick / wood texture change you went with. The windows I can adjust to, though I would have enjoyed it if those connected like they did in v.26. I think I'll end up mixing the two after a while, but I've only used it for fifteen minutes or so now. V26's cobblestone/stone also takes my preference.
Edit: The connected glass seems to be an option on my side. My bad. Silly tekkit launcher.
Thanks for the feedback. Looking at those comparison screenshots makes me think that maybe the new stone brick is a little too contrasted. I may have gone a little overboard in my enthusiasm to start creating deeper textures. I'll fiddle around with it, but I definitely think I'm sticking with this new stuff in one form or another. I was planning on using that smoother stone brick to make new nether bricks.
The cobblestone change was requested somewhat vocally by a good number of people who didn't like that weakly contrasted old stuff. We'll see how it is received, and as usual I'll keep polishing it until it's good.
The wood changes were an impulsive one. The dark one I think you're talking about is spruce. I made it quite dark because many people like to build with very dark woods. Might need some tuning. Until I see builds that give me a good idea of what these textures look like in action, it's hard for me to know whether they're right yet or not.

I'll search for some people. I'd am curious about how Daniel's textures would turn out XD I actually like xLunthia's textures http://www.youtube.com/user/xlunethia but she hadn't made a video in a while.
Here are some artists that I like, but may not be able to make the FTB textures.

It's not much help, because I tend to be picky on what I like.
I just tried out v27 and had a few comments on it. One of the reason I loved this texture pack so much was because it felt like it was something straight of a SNES game, though with this new font, stone, and dirt, it looks more like it's going towards a realistic texture pack, which is kind of lame. I'll probably stick with v26 until I see how later updates turn out. Also, just a random bug report, the Minecraft logo on the main screen doesn't show up for me, not sure if that's just on my side or if it's a common bug.
Hi, I love this pack, but I miss the old torch texture where it used to look like a candle. Ive tried to change it in the terrain.png but the torch in the game doesnt change when I do so. Is there another file that I need to change to get it to change in the game?

Yeah, you can do that. I've actually got it built in so that it's easy.
Just go into the pack zip, open the 'anim' folder, and delete these two files:
•custom_terrain_80.png
•custom_terrain_80b.png
As long as you haven't removed the candle texture from terrain.png, it will appear in-game, with a little particle fire above it. Dunno why you wouldn't want beautiful animated torches though.

Awesome! Thank you! There are lots of other texture packs with torches. I like the candles because they are unique They have always been one of my favorite parts of your pack!

It's not a bug, he made the texture tansparent. You can also notice he had the same thing on his livestreams. This pack was always going for a realistic look, but also a look that will benefit builders. He had only made a font in v27, the other font was default. If you want an SNES feel, try blizzard's 4x. Don't let the 4x discourage you from trying; I thought I would only use 32x packs.
Hey Tobi, (I hope you don't mind me being overly familiar with greeting you)
First off I want to say how much I really love your Texture pack, and the continued progress you have put into it. Since finding it, it has become my go to Pack... it's come to the point that I can't play Minecraft without it. I'd also like you to know that it was your video's and your incredible builds that pushed me to start really messing with Modding my Minecraft. I still use most of the Mod's and additions you pointed out in your Build of the Fire Temple Video's you made some time ago.
Anyway, with my fawning aside. I wanted to bring up an Issue I have that I do not know if it is related to the texture pack or the associated Mod's I've been using. Honestly at this point I think I've narrowed down the culprit to MODLOADER, or MCPATCHER. So I will more than likely have to go to those Forum Posts, Regardless however I wanted to post my experiences here in the off chance that you might have run into the issue I'm having and perhaps know other steps I could take to fix it. If not, I do understand I just figured I'd wing it and see if maybe you or anyone else who posts here might have an idea of what avenues I need to pursue.
Before we get to far into the gritty of it, I just want to put forward, that at best I am a novice on the whole Modding Minecraft so I do not, nor can I claim to know every path I need to take to fix things.
Ok, so now to the issue. As I stated earlier it was your tutorial's on superbuilds (which I found while looking for a nice Texture pack) that I used to cut my teeth on creating elaborate things. So every time I get the mood to build something massive I look up the Mod's you listed in those video's however many Months ago.
Currently what's happening with the Texture Pack or the Graphic's is that once I have installed the Texture pack, run MCPATCHER and then install MODLOADER all the Formerly beautiful little details that MCPatcher/Texture pack add, vanish (Stone caps on stairs and the new Stonewall. Block and pane windows vanish and tools become hollow rather than looking like a fully rendered Object).
All these are signs atleast as far as I know, that HD textures are not working properly after installing MODLOADER. I would do without it however I need it to used Worldedit effectively with the CUI addition that allows me to see the grid selection.
Running MCPatcher again however causes CUI's selection grid to Vanish again, and using OPTIFIND only corrects the problem with hollow Items, not the little additions to Stonewalls and Stairs. Oddly enough OPTIFIND makes your fantastic sky just vanish, and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to fix it. It also doesn't fix the problem with the walls/stairs. Aside from running MCPatcher again. However considering the problem's I'm encountering because I need to be able to see the Grid provided for CUI it's not really an option.
My installing Method for these Mod's looks something like this.
- Put in Texture pack
- Run MCPATCHER
- Install ModLoader
- Install CUI
- Install TomanyItems
(I run Worldedit on a Bukkit server right now because of the incompatibility issues Singleplayer Commands and CUI are currently having)
I try and run as few mod's as possible so that I don't have to worry about updating to much when new versions hit.
Anyway, if there is any advise you might be able to provide I would humbly appreciate it. An thank you for taking the time to read threw my post.
To bring all this back around to the Texture pack after sitting through that massive post (I'm sorry to bog you down with it). I really love the new update to the pack, though if I can give a few critiques, and mind the opinion of art is subjective. My only really glaring issue was the new font. I had to change it almost as soon as I started playing with it.
A smaller issue for me is how dark the lines inside the Stonebrick, and Cobble stone have become. Perhaps I just got to use to v26 but the subtle ties of that versions appealed to me much more then the deep dark lines of the new one. Anyway I just wanted to give my opinion. Art is subjective and regardless of those things I love your mod as I said above. I can't play without it.
Please keep up the great work.
If you ever need a server just to hang about on, let me know. I've got plenty of room for others. Especially the guy who helped me cut my teeth in building massive structures. (Even if he didn't know he was helping)
Thank you for reading,
- Dark
Here are two screens of the problem I've been having.
The First Screen, is with the Texture Pack patched with MCpatcher. Nothing Else.
The Second Screen, is after applying Modloader. If you notice in here the Stonewalls/pillars/cobblestone stairs are missing the Cap stones. You might also notice for some reason the torches switched over the Candle (which honestly I like more) but I have no idea why.

I actually had this same problem recently. I installed World Edit two days ago for the first time in ages.
After I got all the mods in, I noticed CTM textures weren't working, nor was WE CUI. To restore the CTM textures all I had to do was repatch with MCPatcher.
I still can't get WE CUI to work. I assume it's because World Edit still hasn't quite updated to 1.4.6, and isn't quite compatible with CUI. Also, I read on WE CUI forum page that it's not compatible with Single Player commands right now, so if you're installing WE through that, that might be the problem too.
Other than that I don't really know. All these mods confuse me. I just make the textures.
Honestly, I really don't know why CUI hasn't been built into WE yet. It's essential imo.
Not sure if i'm doing something wrong but when I use the pack it doesn't give me the great looking skys. It just loads up the normal one, I use optifine if that makes any difference. Any help?
You need MCPatcher for Better Skies to work properly, Optifine doesn't fully support it. It is possible to use both, but can be tricky... I've gotten it in the past through a bit of trial and error, but my current setup is just Optifine.
I got a little problem with the latest version, didn't have it earlier. Maybe I screwed up the install of MCPatcher, dunno?
But as you can see in the screenshot, the bricks, pumpkins, gold and compass are screwed up, maybe more, I didn't check any further.
MCPatcher is screwed up. Try reinstalling it, or check the HD textures if it isnt already.
Hi Tobi, Im having a weird glitch that I just thought I should mention. Sometimes my fire animation doesnt work, and I have to log out, switch texture packs, switch back, and log back in, to get it to work. Do you have any idea why this could be?

I've never heard of that. No idea. My pack doesn't have custom fire though. It uses the ones provided by MCPatcher or Optifine.
