The broken window looks perfect without shine. If you are worried about the grey melting into background of door frame, give the glass a touch of green, the shade that old glass bottles take on, or the pale aquamarine of Mexican glassware maybe?
Good idea. The glass is a bit boring at the moment.
I'm not sure how one goes about putting alternate textures for the same block in Minecraft in the same pack, but the timber framed square to match the door sounds good too. I certainly don't insist on retaining a piratical theme, but the old-world weathered look of the bits you have done so far would still go well in that genre, aye.
At the moment we can't have alternates (I don't think). It would be an awesome thing for Notch to include in the future. Like, when you craft a window you can choose between several styles on the right instead of just the one. One window style just ain't enough for a big world.
I have seen a pack somewhere that let you pick the bits online before you download it. Have you seen that?
(Edit) It doesn't quite work how I remembered but the JOHNSMITH TEXTURE PACK is the one I was thinking of with the customizer.
Added a battered ugly green wooden window and a sand texture.
I'm not real happy with this window but I'll be making a bunch of different ones.
Remember, this isn't a full texture pack. I've just put all the textures in one image with the idea that you can cut out and use the bits you want.
The chest and craft table textures, however, can be cut out together and pasted directly into your terrain.png file (after you cut out whatever was there before). Does that make sense?
i played pirates, vikings and knights 2 and i tought that i had some problems with my eyes because i saw this pirate chest and it looked like one from the game!
Amazing work! keep making those textures!
edit: WOW!
i dint see the other textures!
thats what i call a beginning of a great texturepack!
you know your gunna end up making a full texture pack from this
Yeah, it's lookin' that way :smile.gif:
And, hopefully, down the track Notch will allow more than one style for items like doors and windows. One wooden window ain't enough.

im glad you made it! i have been looking for a texturepack like this because i want to make a pirate world where i can use my flintlock's(from ye olde minegunner mod)
Hmm, some objects do have a damage count to allow different textures to be used, for example wool. Maybe someone could mod a way to change the damage counter through the craft window? I don't know.
Either way, love the new window. It's brilliant and that's the perfect shade of green. However I think adding just a few subtler pieces of broken glass around the two edges adjacent to the corner with the large shard would make it look just that tiny bit better. If done properly of course, I trust you could do it.
I forgot to include this hideous window in the previous post. It's been painted a couple of times over the years. Hopefully, one day all the paint will have flaked off.
I still prefer the green to the others, but that tiny brown grungy window is "cute" in comparison. The new wood is better in my opinion and I'm liking the look of the sand, however it seems to be a bit too soft looking. Think you can do anything about that?
I totally agree.

Yeah, it does tile nice :smile.gif:
I 'spose I'm comparing it to the door which I really like.

Keep up the brilliant work though.
I'm hoping so!
new small grungy window,
porthole on the new wood,
some very slight changes to the green window
Thanks, sluisi. It didn't start out as a pack. But it seems to be heading that way :smile.gif:
Thanks, Mike. And the green window is growing on me :smile.gif:
