Update 1.7 has been released and I am as exited as all of you about. Jeb did release the textures early for texture pack makers, so I was able to see the changes ahead of release. Expect a texture pack update sometime today as I am just about finished! Just giving you guys a heads up on progress because I know you all get antsy.
I want to thank you all again for supporting this texture pack! I would have never guessed reaching almost 2k downloads every time! Thanks everyone!
Sorry about the extraordinarily long delay. My best friend has just been married and so I've been involved with that for the past month. Things are still a bit hectic, expect an update within the week. Again, apologies for my lack of prompt updates.
Again I want to apologize for the lack of updates. Last month was hectic and I had barely any free time. Anyway, I vow to always release a texture pack update within a week from the Minecraft update (Barring unforeseen consequences). Here is the release for v1.7!

I decided to play through Cave Story again in search for some new textures. Then it occurred to me that the community isn't really involved at all in this texture pack and I'd like to change that! There is no reason that this pack should be getting 2k+ downloads per update and no responses other than to ask when the update is coming out. So, starting today, I'm going to periodically ask for community input. Whether it be creating new textures, alternates of textures, or just general revisions I want you guys to feel like you have a say in this pack. Don't like something? Suggest an alternate texture!
So to start things off here is a picture of a few textures I found that I thought I'd run by this thread.
In this picture I have a few ideas for some textures I think might come up in the 1.8 update, then I have s suggestion for a revised/alternate torch, and lastly a couple of textures I thought might look good in the pack, just don't know what they might be.
So let me know what you guys think. If this just flops and receives no responses, I'll just go back to updating the pack every update and that will be that. Hopefully we can make this thread more than just four pages of "Hey when's the update coming out?!" and get some actual content rolling.
I really like this texture pack. Wonderful idea, nice details (Press pumpkins, gravel, paintings, GUI, particles, mobs) . I'm really glad it's continued... it started out okay, but you greatly improved it.
So, a few thoughts on this:
-Arrow hit particles (I never noticed whether arrows leave particles on hit) should look like those polar star particles seen in CS. These don't exist, though I wish they did.
-Red flowers should look more like the Demon Flowers. Agreed, I'll work on them a bit.
-Some pieces of redstone technology (pistons, dispensers) and the fences should be reminiscent of the place where you battle the Core. (I don't know how either of these look right now.) I'm very close to the Core so I'll see if I can find some inspiration while I'm there.
-If they aren't in there already, those unfriendly sun faces (from Egg Corridor and Sand Zone) should appear somewhere. I was just thinking of redoing Sandstone...
-The framing of the glass textures currently is a bit obstructive. I hate dealing with Glass textures. No matter what you put on them, it always blocks something, and plain clear just doesn't look right. They are currently the exact texture for windows in Cave Story, so for now they will stay that way.
-Signs should be easier to read. Signs are being completely re-textured in 1.8
-Skeletons currently look wacky. Just fixed this. Their eyes will no longer be simply lines.

I love you for this, this is amazing! Not amazing for playing, really, but this is amazing that someone came up with this idea. This is one of those "Look around for ten minutes then switch back" packs. But it's great nonetheless. :biggrin.gif:

The bow is a Polar Star, right? And in 1.8, the bow gets charged shots...
Well the polar star doesn't get charge shots, that's the spur but i understand where you'r getting at.
