Wow! I must say, this is so good and usefull :smile.gif: I like that you can upload your freshly made skin inside the program, without going all the way to Minecraft.net, login, browse through all the folders to find the skin you made, and then upload it. Now you can just click on "Use This Skin!", Log inn(for those who haven't set on auto-login), and then you are done :biggrin.gif:
Piece of trivia: skin upload was the first feature this skin editor had. When McSkin3D was originally just a blank window called Form1, I was experimenting with HTTPS connectivity, and once I had that finished, I figured "hey why not make a skin management program"!
Well i have like 7 minutes before i get to try this, but the idea of drawing on the model itself is nice, and to be honest ill probably continue to draw on the normal part more, i saw that one of the options was to add the fill feature not sure if thats been done yet, but if you do can you have it to stick with in the boundaries of the area your filling, ie if your making the top of the head red it doesn't fill the entire sheet red, that's my biggest annoyance with skinedit
Not sure whether it's already been suggested, but clicking back and forth between the pencil tool and the "eye" (manipulate view) tool can be tedious. Why not just make it so that clicking and dragging on the grass with any tool rotates the model?

You can. Use right-click to rotate while using another tool, and middle-click to zoom.
The reason I asked about plans for a part picker is because I made the Nod and GDI parts in Swedman's and some website based skin editor, and at the risk of sounding pretentious, I just wanted to say you've officially got permission to include them, since it seems people are requesting the part picker feature.
Great idea, and great program! The only thing i wish is that it worked for mac, because thats what kinda of CPU I'm currently on. So if anyone in this thread can convert this for mac, id be very grateful.
I tried running it but i got a message saying:this application has failed to start because MSVCR100_CLR0400.dll was not found . reinstalling the application may fix this problem.(unable to locate component)
Install the .NET Framework 4.0; see the main post!

I know, I'm sorry. I'm working on finding someone who can do it!

Oh. Derp. Thanks.
One more thing, and I don't know whether it's intentional: The burn tool darkens more than the dodge tool lightens. Personally, I'd prefer them to be equal (or allow me to choose the severity).

They are equal exposure (25%), however they use different blend modes (subtract and multiply, respectively), which makes them incompatible. You're thinking about lighten and darken; planned, for future.

Alright I just suck then =p Great tool, best of luck on future endeavors.
I like it! It likes to stop working. =P The transparency won't turn off for me. I crashes when I go to exit. Windows 7 64-bit, i3 2.13GHz CPU Sony Vaio Laptop. I know it's new. keep up the good work!

Strange - does it say it succeeded? I'll run some tests and see if it's just you or if it's me as well. Add me on MSN or Skype.
EDIT: Make sure you closed Minecraft first - MC caches your last skin until you log in again.

Fill is planned. HD skins can only be used by specific packs, they can't be uploaded to Minecraft.net. They will work, by default, in the editor.

MC Skin Editor does not let you paint ON the 3d model, that's the whole idea behind this editor.
