For the record...Canadian English is not a dialect of English. It is almost exactly the same as US English, or any other kind of English, except for a few barely noticeable differences. So obviously, these differences are exaggerated, like adding "eh?" to the end of phrases in Canadian English, and if they wanted to have some fun with the upcoming addition of Australian English, they could add "mate" to the end of everything. Otherwise, having Canadian English, or any other kind of English, would be pointless.
Oh. My. God.
Here's the definition of a dialect: "A particular form of a language that is peculiar to a specific region or social group." Guess what: Canada is a region.
It's not pointless. Here I am, and others are, saying that we would like our dialect to be represented equally to other dialects. It's not hurting you or anyone else for us to have this.
It's not even wasting anyone's time, since the translation is all on a volunteer basis. Volunteers who, like us, would like to see Canadian English in the game.

It is still almost no different to any other kind of English. It is entirely mutually intelligible. Also I don't understand how it is "not being represented equally". It is being represented as equally as any other language, which is nice because in my opinion, other LANGUAGES should be a higher priority than a subset of English.
It DOES however, bother me that people can't look at this as a joke, or an attempt by some of the Minecraft fanbase to make the language in this game more interesting.

You and I must have different definitions of 'equality'.
I'm aware that the edit was made as a joke, but when people tell me my language isn't important; well, it's a whole other story.
Alright...your definition of equality is what then?
Ok I am glad that part was cleared up. Although I don't recall seeing anyone say Canadian English was not important...anyhow it doesn't matter.
Every time I see a thread about the trolly edits in the Canadian English file, there are always one or two people who pipe up to say that it should be taken out entirely.
It gets very easy for me to take it personally, since it is something personal about me.
SILLYJIMMY5 suggested that Canadian and UK English be removed because they're so similar to US English. That's what I was referring to.
Isn't that a farcry from the piece of your post that I posted? Everyone and insist? His post doesn't strike me as being nationalistic or discriminatory at all. I'm not saying I agree with him, but I think you may have taken his point the wrong way.

Obviously I'm aware that not everyone thinks it should be the norm. It was a bad choice of words, but I really don't see why you had to jump in and debunk it. I'm sorry for hyperbolizing though, I guess. Forgive me.
I just want to clarify though; I was hyperbolizing a general sentiment that I've experienced outside of the forum as well, not just things that can be quoted from this thread.

I was just making a casual response for some clarification and insight on your part. Geez.
Because English (Called English because it's from England) is the real language, American and Canadian are just dialects/other versions (;
I figured that was why. That's not how language works. The dialect of English spoken in the UK- when compared to Old English- is just as dissonant as any other English spoken in the world today. Besides, the English language didn't even begin in England anyways. It began it's development around Northern Germany and was a mixed concoction as a result of societies such as the Danes and Anglo-Saxons.

I'm pretty sure English was originally West-Germanic.
I apologize for grumping, and I want to remind people:

While that's kind of funny, Canadian and UK English should be removed. There's no differences, people are only changing words around like fast to quick and dirt to mud. They're a waste of time and space.
There are differences between American English and UK English. But if the other versions of English were to be removed then the single English would need to be changed from English US to just plain English.

I've yet to see a single person say such a thing.

By what standard do you make such a statement?

This and "Sorry, your bed is missing or obstructed, Eh?"
