That really looks like a type of monkey to me. I wonder if it drops monkey brains or monkey meat for food. Monkeys being mischievous, will they break into your house and steal stuff from your chest. Can you tame them? Do you tame them with bones or bananas? Are there going to be bananas? So many questions, so few answers...
Increasing the size of your text does not make up for the complete and utter lack of evidence that it's a tiger.
More like your complete willful ignorance of ignoring all the evidence supporting the fact it's a tiger, lemur, or some other jungle-feline (like a puma) TIGERS were also the first mob before monkeys were mentioned, the further tweets about monkeys is how they would be cool but very difficult to make pathfinding for (climbing)
Plus, you can see it's cartoony green eye(s) and ear poking up through the grass...a monkey would most likely be the stereotypical brown and beige type with a twisty tail. This lil beast is more yellowy with black bits.
I edited the first post with more speculation saying how the mob must be 1x1 in size like the cave spider because it is most probably standing on a leaf block.
That's why I think it isn't a tiger/baby tiger. I mean, why would he put the baby version inn the teaser anyways?
Plus, I really want it to be a monkey for the small chance that it will be a tameable mob that can climb walls and retrieve drops for you.
...How badass would that be? haha

I mean, I'm not saying I wouldn't be alright with a tiger too.
But if it were to be a cat, I would hope for it to be a smaller wild cat. I would feel too powerful if a massive tiger followed me around and fought for me. But hey, who says they're even tameable? A big tiger would feel too much like a mod though and not vanilla enough.
It would just feel like Mo Creatures...

Jeb tweeted about "jungle animals" and never specifically mentioned anything.
No one at Mojang has specifically mentioned tigers.
They have only mentioned monkeys.
Does that mean it is conclusively a monkey?
No, but that is the only possibility which has any supporting evidence.
P.S. - I don't know about you, but the color of that thing in the picture is called "light brown" where I come from.
Yea... but it is always fun to hype the hell out of something and make predictions.
That is what this forum is for, after all... 1.1 discussion
Edit: @Htaru I saw that other topic too. To be honest, I would love to have an Ocelot too. I feel like a wolf wouldn't be a fitting companion since my new survival world is on a Jungle Island in the middle of the ocean. And the 1x1 size supports Ocelots. However, I still stick by my monkey prediction

Ummmm.... Wow. Haha where did you find that? That's sweet.
It's a little odd how the face doesn't match with the rest of the body though.
Looks like it is in a crouched position in the screenshot because you can see the bottom of the paws.
Great find, I would +1 every post you have on this topic but apparently I've reached my quota for the day.
Someone else should do it for me

That model looks nothing like what's shown in the screenshot, even in a crawling/crouching position. It's way too dark and is missing the ear-like orange bit poking up above it's head.

I agree with the ear part, that confuses me a bit.
But it actually does look like it is the crouching figure in the snapshot.
Face matches, color matches.
The leg is extended forward and at such an angle that part of the brown leg is showing and overlapping the crest on its chest.
It adds up, I'd still love to know where you got this from though, Repeatist

This is really starting to drive me crazy. Why do you think it's orange?
Just to show you what color it is I downloaded the image, zoomed in on the little bit sticking up above the grass you mentioned, sampled the color from the lightest part of that bit (there are some darker brown pixels next to it), then filled that color into a 100 pixel x 100 pixel square image so that you can clearly see that the color is brown.
Here it is, the color you claim is orange:
EDIT:
Just to be clear here's another 100 pixel x 100 pixel box which shows a color gradient from dark to light orange.
This is my +20 signature of Stupidity.
