Make it a world option. There now everyone is happy.
Except for elitists who are everyone.
Actually, I completely agree with this, and made this very suggestion. To reiterate: since there's a significant amount of people who don't want to mess up their worlds and/or like the current terrain generation, the best bet is for the Minecraft team to create a new "realistic" terrain rendering option. I'd be happy with that, just as long as I don't personally have to play in a world littered with tundrungleserts. :wink.gif:
Because nonsense biome placement is a bug that is going to inevitably show up on Jeb's radar, and Mojang will once again redo the terrain generation code and cause us all to lose our progress in order to experience the new features, and that's getting kind of old.
Superficial bugs don't cause us to wipe all our time and effort away and start over every couple weeks.
Except no one forces you to wipe anything away and start over.
You can just not update.
You can just update and deal with whatever happens.
You can use a world editor to move things from one world to another.
You can use a terrain generation mod so that the changes Mojang makes to their terrain generator doesn't even matter.
However there are still duplication bugs which can be exploited in SMP which can wreak havoc in a number of ways (griefers duping TNT, duping materials to throw off a server economy or just for personal advantage), the game's boss fight doesn't even work in SMP properly (much like how the Nether didn't work in SMP for months), there are still lighting glitches, mobs still glitch through solid blocks, the list goes on and on and on.
Frankly, while it may not be a feature there is no evidence of the random biome placement being a bug yet you treat the subject as if everyone agrees with you and it will eventually be fixed. While it would be nice if they would update terrain gen in such a way that doesn't cause established biomes to shuffle around (I don't even have high hopes for that) I highly doubt they will ever bother implementing some sort of climate system to sort biomes in a certain way.
tl;dr - You are in fact part of a minority that see this as a serious, high-priority issue. Most people have completely different complaints about biomes, some people don't have any. Stop acting as if you've already been proven correct by some higher power and the rest of us should just agree with you.

Sigh.
We should play the game for what it's for, not having to use 3rd party programs to fix shitty coding that had the idea to place a hot and rainy biome right next to a frigid and cold idea.
I really dont get why people defend such an incoherent piece of **** flaw from a finished product. Stop pretending that it looks nice, it doesn't. I don't give two ****s about what the "majority" says, Mojang should have high quality games and not stop because majority likes the second grade terrain generator we have now.
All Ovus is asking for is the realistic coherent placing of biomes. A swamp, desert, and taiga shouldn't be in 1 corner in the same place.

I'm not saying it looks nice and I'm not defending anyone.
I'm saying there are actual bugs and incomplete features which should be the priority for the developer. Oh no, the biomes don't look nice! They never really have in my opinion. However I would like to see the already planned features and the partially implemented features completed, along with the bugs squashed, before figuring out which biome goes next to which becomes a real issue.

It is, and they're not concerned about something that has been in the game since biomes were introduced.
Random biome placement is not a glitch. Random biome placement is not a bug. Random biome placement is not important to anyone but the few folks who can't stand the fact that Minecraftia has a far different climate than Earth.
There are a number of us who don't want this changed. You do. Why don't you go find a mod that suits your needs as this is not an important issue.
Fun Fact: The Minecraft Forums are the vocal minority.

Users lack the mental capacity to have intelligent discussion, and mods lack the mental capacity to make intellegent decisions... I give up trying to share my intelligence with the world.

In other words, some poeple cant understand that Minecraft is not real world. Why they want to reflect the real world? I told them my reasons not to be reflected but they dont give any substantios reason to be like the real world. Part of the fun of minecraft is roaming around and exploring without knowhing whats going to be on the other side of the ocean, in the end of the river or behind that forest or that hill.

I am totally agree with you! And im going to answer your question, at least my point of vierw: they want to catch atention of people by "shaking" the masses and protesting just because all because they want to get some reputations being the "scandalous" and controvertial people on minecraft forums.
Lol, you really, truly think Jeb doesn't consider the fact that SNOWY TUNDRAS spawn within a couple blocks of SWELTERING JUNGLE AND DESERT an issue? That is a remarkable level of delusion you've got going on there.
I remember when people complained that the biomes were "too boring". Now they're too exciting, hm?
...no? Most of the biomes aren't exciting enough. But the problem with tundras spawning next to jungles is not about excitement, it's about sloppy game design.

I am also bothered by wet and hot biomes spawning right next to cold and dry biomes, etc., etc.

AKA: Its been on the game since it was created, ergo, i dont think that "is not a feature" argument is valid.

That suposed bug was in the game forever and they never stated or said IT IS A Bug. Ive seen many UGLY BUGS (real ones) that MUST BE FIXED ASAP.
You guys really think Jeb doesn't intend to fix this at some point?
You are truly delusional.
Oh wait, you can't. There is none.
This is not an issue with the game. Get a mod.
Lol, I'm quoting this post back to you when Jeb starts addressing this issue.
Because he won't.
I can't tell if these are the Minecraft Forums or a hilarious metaphor for the stock market. They're up, they're down, they're all over the map~
LMAO!!
Really I think people would complain if one biome was always near another biome. it would be best to just leave this alone.
