no there will always people who complain to complain ie. "i hate these stupid beaches everywhere!!111!!1one!!!" so it will never go away entirely XD but if his winning roll continues a complaint thread will be once on a blue moon.

i just saw a thread complaining about the beaches. called it XD
Jeb is turning things around. My only concern is if he will continue to improve things. BTW the things that Notch ruined.
well hes kicking some serious butt in improving the game and hes showing no signs of slowing down and yea hes fixing 1 of notch's biggest mistake...hes making the mod API.
The complaint threads are dying down now, but only the people who can be pleased are happy.
I've still seen a ton of people demanding that Mojang just drop everything, downgrade to Alpha, and never touch this game again. Apparently, there isn't a widely accepted definition for "not in the spirit of Minecraft" among this community.

"Science isn't a matter of WHY, it's a matter of WHY NOT? WHY is so much of our science dangerous? Why don't you marry safe science if you love it so much? In fact, why don't you invent a special safety door that won't slam you in the butt on your way out? BECAUSE YOU ARE FIRED!" -Cave Johnson
I will admit I was spoiled by the wacky terrain we were treated to pre-1.8. I enjoyed picking out a mountain and carving it into something like a sculpture. Then 1.8 hit and I was distracted by Endermen and Villages, and after a while started to feel a sickness. That sickness was flatitis. I was getting sick and tired of everything being so flipping flat. True there were mountain biomes, but they were just mounds of dirt with no real life on them.
Then came the news about the latest snapshot, and I broke my rule on waiting for the update this time, as before I did tinker with the prereleases to 1.0. The wacky terrain isn't back, but what I see is not flat. Seeing large hills of sand in deserts is one thing that makes me happy. That's something I can turn into a nice desert fortress. Nice valleys in the forests makes me happy. Can sit down there by a cabin and watch the clouds float past the trees sitting on the ridges above. Mountain biomes seem to be a little more frequent as if there was effort to also make sure you could see one mountain near your homebase. That I can like, too. They just need some more trees.
I would like to raise one point: Notch did create Minecraft. If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have this game to play today. Let's remember that it was his choice to pass direction of the game to Jeb. So can we please cool down on the hate rants? It is unhealthy.

In the real world, you stick your head in the dirt to hide from problems.
In Minecraft, you stick your head in the dirt to find problems.

i suppose i can agree with this. we should probably turn down the hate.
I can't wait to see what jeb has to offer. should be good.
Hopefully it gets to be once in a green moon.

Actually, I don't really need any mods, but I have to use TMI as I'm helping to make a texture pack.
Help us at soartex.net!
its in the snapshots or at least a majority of them.
His halo looks an awful lot like a clock.... just sayin'
i just woke my dog up laughing at that.

What would that accomplish? Alpha Already exists and it is playable via MCNostalgia
PPL could always play that if they wanted.
yea... the game is out of beta.. snapshots are not the game... updates are..
Im done being a paying tester for them... if I am going to game test I want to be properly paid for it..
Your avatar fits very well with your attitude.
You are not obligated to be payed in any way whatsoever. It is completely optional if you want to download the snapshots.
Think of it this way: your payment is getting to play features as soon as they are released instead of needing to wait.
this. you don't have to play the snapshots if you don't want to.
Although I do think the terrain generation needs a bit more work.

agreed..
I dont have a problem with snapshots or people doing their testing for them.. but its not in the game until it is in an update is all I am saying..
also hope he continues to add and tweak contents in a way that satisfies us (most of us at least)
so far he's made great choices
