Essentially what the Title says: I am pretty annoyed by the fact that so many people out there are like "omg N0tch neds to fix this nou!!111!! thiz gam3 is so broken!!1!!" (said in a SeaNanners nerd voice ;P)
Do you not understand the meaning of a Pre-Release? For my part, I am glad that he and the other people in Mojang are actually letting us even SEE these pre-releases, because in all honesty, they are usually only meant for a small group of testers; so you should feel grateful that Notch is even allowing these to the general public.
*I know that is is more of a Rant than a discussion, so in order to get a more "discussion" feel here, post your own opinions about people who have this sort of attitude*
*Keep them posts clean! :wink.gif:

If my posts helped you out, how about showing that Rep button some love? :3
You fit perfectly to the category pointed out by ROWLAWNDOE.
WHY ? Because it was pointed out like 4 or 5 times by both Notch and Jeb that this content is all work im progress that is only out for testing so that IT CAN BE FINISHED AND COMPLETE at minecon where the full release will propably take place.
No boss in the end? - Work in progress, and we onlt have a "that's what there is SO FAR" version.
Villages and Inhabitants suck? - Work in progress, that's why it's not Beta 1.9, but pre pre release 4 "half way done" version
Enchanting sucks? - That's why this thing got released in "very early concept" version, so that guys in mojang can see what ppl say and grind ideas for fixes and changes out of it
And las thing ...
Villagers don't look like human? - Yeah ... because zombie pig men are so real, or exploding cucumbers are almost like real animals
no need to go caps on him. :mellow.gif: its not like he was complaining. he was just saying why he and some other people dont think notch will meet the release date.

I love you really.
Please do not approach me (or anybody else) with any hostility; making friends is way better than making enemies. =3

On another side, I would like to point out, lots of people are suggesting ideas to make the completed game better. The pre-release is for people to tell Mojang what's right and wrong.
It may not look so, but complaining is also feedback. It's just not pleasing to read.
"omg N0tch neds to fix this nou!!111!!"
That's what is expected from us, as betatesters... in the case of pre-releases, the betabetatesters: give feedback. Tell Mojang what is working and what is not, what can be made better and what is already good. And that is the exact opposite of acting like the game was completed.
Being silent and hopeful that something wrong may or may not be fixed is acting like the game was completed and you had absolutely no word on it.
But betatesters have the word. Based on their complainings that Mojang knows what the joe-minecraft-public thinks of certain features (like Villagers), and can act accordingly, by providing a reason, tweaking, or removing it entirelly. Because of them the Endermen now stopped griefing our buildings, specially on 24h servers worldwide.(just an example)
Don't think that I'm a whiner because of this post. But complainig is certainly more a betatester attitude than being silent.

I mostly agree with this post. But people should still learn to beta test in a more civil manner, something more resembling bug posting and real feedback and not mindless whining and raging.
[added in edit]: One the same note, when someone does provide good feedback, the rest of the community should be civil and discuss it, instead of the raging "ITz a B3TA!!!" replies... Overall the forums just need to mature.

I agree with both.
While complaining can be considered feedback, it's no excuse for such behavior. I believe that's why Reddit is the main source of constructive feedback for Mojang, while MC forum is more for people stating their opinions (sometimes whining/raging etc)

Feedback =/= whining
I'm not saying this directly at you, but for all the whiners in general.
There's a difference between pointing out a bug/problem and having a freaking mental breakdown over it.
I rather think you dont understand the meaning of a pre-release.
They let us test the stuff and theres nothing wrong with saying "this or that doesnt work out well, it needs some more love or some fixes". Thats why they let us play the pre-releases, to get some information about how good the new stuff already is.
I'm not saying that people should not leave feedback. I mean, of course they should! That's the whole reason of releasing a Beta/Pre-Release, to get feedback in order to know what needs to be fixed.
That being said, what I meant by people complaining are not the people who leave constructive criticism, but rather the people who only complain on forums etc. and yell things like "Notch doesn't know what he is doing! look at this broken game! meow meow meow!" Savvy?

I'm trying to say that you are "wrong" for what you posted, but I think you misunderstood my point. To quote myself in a earlier reply:

I hope you understand what I meant by the people who are complaining. Remember that the majority of the general public does not leave any sort of helpful feedback at all, but rather all they say is "This is bad! This doesn't work! Fix this now! Fix that now!" :smile.gif:

There we go! This is what I was trying to say in my original post. (Although I do admit it could be a little misleading)
