I sorta agree with OP. I didn't struggle that much to find food before the new mushroom biome stuff, so I don't really see what it adds to the game survival wise. Good on the developers for mucking around a bit and being a bit more relaxed but I think there are far more important things for them to work on at this time. It would be nice for them to polish some things up before they start new projects.
Honestly once they add Dragons (Or alt, Like a Griffin [Tamable, rideable obviously]), Exp, And New weapons maybe Copper, tin, bronze and an Awesome mad up ore, I'm good. Otherwise I say Notch and Jeb have fun with it
Why new metals? It'll just make , my, old worlds obsolete and what would be the point, they would have to add more things they are used to make, bronze would be weaker than iron and stronger, maybe, than stone or wood.
It appears that the OP dosent know that this game is still a WIP.
I already see the future, huge rage/complain topics if Notch ever add dragons... Also the complain topic who complains about people who complain complains topic. (Yo dawg!)
I haven't read all the posts in the thread, but have to agree with the OP, partially at least.
I think the main thing here is that Minecraft doesn't have a design document, this has been stated by Notch.
This seem to mean that they basically just add whatever they think is cool for the moment, without being overly concerned about the big picture. I think this is what is resulting in several half-baked features being added without being properly fleshed out, fully implemented or even useful.
If you then consider that we now have 1.5 months until release, I can understand if some people are a bit concerned, or frustrated with the current progress.
what are we to expect from a game in the beta level of development. sure i didnt get it when snow biomes were just wiped clean in 1.8.1 but i get certain developments are made prior to release.
a month away and we have gone through alpha and alot of beta and alot of crap that has been added has no real use, but what can happened in a month and a half is beyond me. now the progression of i think 2 ppl on one game like this is rather... moving to see cause they almost seem to care but not at the same time. love that game to death, but more could be done if you were more into it and involved.
but as i said, a month from release release, and much can change in a month...
Mojang are becoming more and more like Nintendo: bringing out reems and reems of crap wihtout actually asking the community if they want it... And they add insult to injury with the good stuff remaining broken or ignored for multiple patches...
I mean, for god's sake! How long has the apple been "in" the game and yet it still is unattainable with using mods of server commands... The introduction of an apple tree is hardly back breaking, and at least it'd add something that everyone could make use of!
In Minecraft, isn't it the pointless things that make it a game? I mean, when you think about it, gravel is useless, and so is the Nether, Slimes, abandoned Mineshafts, Cobblestone, and Weather. But its the little stuff that makes Minecraft, ya know?
I dont really know of what are you talking about do you want mythryl, cobalt, Silver, Copper, or another ore? there are mods for it,Mooshroom are usefull they give you Mushroom stew, they give you Musrooms.
Mineshaft are usefull they give you Melon seeds, give you diamond, iron, and more.
Stronghold are usefull give you the portal to the ender, give you books, and seeds.
Dripping effect is usefull you can know if there is lava above you.
Mushroom biome is really usefull for getting mushrooms. and it feels with minecraft, minecraft its a fantasy-Sandbox game
Or do you think Giant spiders, Archer skeletons and undead are in real life?
Your 100% right! Not only are the new biomes useless, but every biome is useless! We just need 1 with everything in it!
Mineshafts, strongholds, villages, Got to go! Hell while we are at it lets remove caves as well! What use are they?
All the mobs also have to go! No one needs them! Screw it just delete everything but grass, trees, stone and ore (including hunger and health)! Everything else is pointless stuff that nobody needs.
1. The same way that normal cows are useful.
2. Interesting looking mob to add to mushroom biomes.
3. Can have cool mushroom related features, like growing fungi. Use your imagination.
HURRR DURRR I CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING THAT A SHROOMCOW COULD DO, THEREFORE THEY'RE USELESS HURRR.
It's more like adding shroomcows to Minecraft while implementing a mushroom biome. It's a lot like that.
Pun intended?
i agree mooshooms are awesome
PS. the mooshrooms look freaky as hell.
Why new metals? It'll just make , my, old worlds obsolete and what would be the point, they would have to add more things they are used to make, bronze would be weaker than iron and stronger, maybe, than stone or wood.
It gets a result.

THIS.
Edit: Also, tweeted this topic to Notch :biggrin.gif:
yes 1.7.23 was the best. Im will you on that.
Mineshaft are usefull they give you Melon seeds, give you diamond, iron, and more.
Stronghold are usefull give you the portal to the ender, give you books, and seeds.

agreed posts like this make me sick its whining about a game its not life a game its not going to be perfect. but it can be great!
Mineshafts, strongholds, villages, Got to go! Hell while we are at it lets remove caves as well! What use are they?

Nothing new to see here folks..
-Move on
^ I like this man.
1.6.6 was awesome too.
Shears are a disappointment in 1.7, except for leaves
1.8 has hunger, which kinda ruined my feel of minecraft. And large biomes, which are even worse.
1.9 looks like a complete waste.
