Why does Mojang insist on adding little details on to an unfinished product? Honestly, Mooshrooms and their whole little biome are utterly useless, and don't contribute to Minecraft at all. Why not add some game changing stuff, like new ores, and mobs that are ACTUALLY scary as hell. Maybe fix Endermen before they take the time to make useless Mooshrooms.
I'm sick of this, they need to start focusing on what's important in this game, not the details.
It's like putting furniture in your new house before changing the rotted floor. It's pointless and will eventually get in the way when you're trying to finish.
They keep adding things that should be polish, that should be added once the game is bug free and essentially done, but instead of working on the foundation for this game, they make a new pointless stupid cow. 1.9 pre-release has been a big fail so far, and I'm not sure the actual 1.9 update will be much better. It's already been split into 1.9 and 1.10.
I would also like to add that they seriously need to fix the concerns with 1.8 before working on anything else IMHO. I can stand just about everything except the "void" when you go down to diamond level. It makes large underground bases pointless and staunches creativity.
But in all seriousness i think the mooshrooms are a nice feature cause mushroom stew is great for hunger and health and i do agree that they should focus more on polishing whats there, but bear in mind that this is a beta for a reason. By the time the full game comes out most things will be taken care of. For now we are just mojangs guinea-pigs
what they are working on is exactly the foundations, it's just foundations of things they haven't explained to you, I could understand why, you don't seem like you'd be that quick to understand, what they're doing now is building the bricks before the house is done, and putting the ones on the bottom in place, what you want is them to start at the roof.
How in the world will those cows be of use? Why not add some useful stuff like a new ore or something that would be actually useful.
1. The same way that normal cows are useful.
2. Interesting looking mob to add to mushroom biomes.
3. Can have cool mushroom related features, like growing fungi. Use your imagination.
HURRR DURRR I CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING THAT A SHROOMCOW COULD DO, THEREFORE THEY'RE USELESS HURRR.
It's like putting the icing on the cake while it's still in the oven.
It's more like adding shroomcows to Minecraft while implementing a mushroom biome. It's a lot like that.

Month and a half away man. They should be fixing up the important things before adding the other stuff like mooshrooms
Mooshrooms aren't my problem, my problem is that they give us this before giving us meaningful stuff.

They don't add anything to Minecraft, at all. I'm sorry you find them so endearing, but all I get from them is seeing them, enjoying them for like a few minutes, then saying, well how will that affect me? Not at all really, they're forgettable additions that are taking up a space that should've been reserved for a more useful addition to Minecraft.
I agree with renadi, just because YOU don't know what something is going to do, or because it doesn't have a point in the game right now, doesn't mean it is bad game design, it probably means mojang just hasn't finished it, but put the new feature because there are a ton of kids going "WE WANT NEW STUFF NOW!!!!!!111111"

Because it's the devs actually having a little FUN.
Frankly, I think that's a GOOD thing. More developers could learn to do that. It might produce better products at the end, if the devs really ENJOY what they're doing. This sort of design is why Minecraft got big in the FIRST place.
Mooshrooms are just a funny, goofy little bonus that probably took Notch/whoever all of 30 minutes to code, if that. They dont NEED to have a big purpose. Yet maybe they will later, who knows?
As for everything ELSE? The blaze rods, the ghast tears, enderpearls, NPCs? THEIR existence makes sense; they're currently unfinished code, but with the INTENT of being useful in an upcoming update. THis is how game development works.
Should I bother to point out how useless redstone was when it was first implemented? It wasn't some game changing feature, and still isn't since people can still play without having to use the stuff... But much of the depth of the things that people have been able to make would be gone without redstone being added in the first place.
Unfortunately, we are in the beta... so complaining about what content they add and when they add it seems a bit backwards. Keep in mind that developers add, take away, modify, nerf, buff, and streamline content BEFORE they release the game, even before their "beta". But in this case we are experiencing the game AS it is going through this process. Just think... if this game was only available on the release date... you would have nothing to compare to to complain about.

Just because you have absolutely no imagination doesn't mean they don't or won't add anything to the game.
Plus, they're a very Super Mario style mob, and you're damn right I find that endearing :tongue.gif:

They're forgettable for you, but not for others. That alone makes them a useful addition. Remember, the world does not revolve around you.

Thank you for the thread. TO be honest, all I wanted for adventure update was 2 new meats, melons, nether ores and villages with npcs (that are not butt ****ing ugly)

Thanks bro, you've changed my life forever with this post, PLEASE MAKE MORE!
:laugh.gif:
I'm sorry, I had to!
Mooshrooms give you mushrooms and mushroom soup! :smile.gif: If you shear them, they become normal cows with milk! So shear every one you see!

i know the date is set in november, however it wouldnt shock me in the slightest if that date were pushed back by the time november rolls around
