Someone needs to take a look at the Mojang login process and see if they can figure out why it's so damned buggy. Lately, there's been a lot of trouble logging in, and while you can still play SP minecraft, those times can be very
annoying when you're trying to help a noob get on in multiplayer. With this next update being called "adventure," getting a party online without problems at the same time is going to be kinda important. Just saying.
Yeah, I thought I was the only one having issues. Usually takes me more than 4 tries to log in. =/
and then they publically release it and they find there's about 50 more bugs?
Thats still less than if they didn't fix these 17 bugs.
It also means the bugs that exist are that much more obscure. All bugs are not equally obvious. A bug that makes all grass appear purple when you start a world is obvious, and will be found quickly. A bug that occurs when water is behind a glass pane and an iron bar on a multiplayer server is more obscure. In relation, the former will impact many more people, and hence is more urgent to fix. Yes, 3 million testers will find more bugs than 100 testers. That is just how it works. But a bug that required 3 million testers to locate and notice is goign to be less relevant than bugs that will be found with 100 testers. So even if there is a drop of 1% in the number of bugs, it will be the most relevant 1% of bugs to fix.
There's a reason they don't give us the Beta Beta version i can say why.
Have you helped the Mojang team in anyway?
Have you made huge impacts to it by designing a way for people of minecraft to play online?
Do you or do you not know how to properly find bugs and to report them right to Jens/Notch?
Do you know how to code?
I could be wrong with all but half of them seem reasonable :smile.gif:
Those requirements sound more like something for alpha and closed beta testers. You know what an open beta is right?
on a serious note, Mojang is starting to treat Minecraft as a full release. Like it's not a WIP anymore.
Ya...
Every update must be polished to perfection to please the little kiddies. Then Monday comes and a few bugs are discovered in the patch and the kids give mojang hell once again. :laugh.gif:
If they released it today with bugs, I'd be cool.
If they release it on Monday with bugs (which there will inevitably be anyway, they're terrible at finding bugs) I'll just be angry. Don't keep it from us only to add more game-breaking updates.
What bugs me more is this assumed form of completion through quantity. 1.8 is a bunch of things -- some of them are probably buggier than others. It seems very un-agile-like to hold back on the stuff that is ready for our consumption because there is other stuff that isn't ready that was initially envisioned to be released simultaneously.
I'll wait patiently but this whole delaying business is causing irritation to creep in more and more.

Make note: I generally avoid being insulting. If I sound insulting, I'm probably joking.

Yeah it stinks =/

November 18 actually...
Judging from the length between 1.7 and 1.8, I don't think they will make it in time for November, let alone 1.9.
To Mojang: GUYS, GET A ****IN' MOVE ON!
There was NEVER a confirmed released date!!! Just an idea of when it COULD be released!!!
It's okay, it will be here faster than you know it!
