Your saves will still be there. But if you wanna find new crap like strongholds, villages, or rivers, you have to travel outward
and hes not getting rid of survival, hes changing it alot.
He didn't say survival was over. He said survival "as we know it" is over. Meaning that the way we play survival now is over cuz we will be playing it differently after 1.8. 1.8 would be completely pointless if they were getting rid of survival.
Yo seriously there is no mode its not like we click survival, We can still play survival in multiplayer servers and all that there is nothing can create thats takes out survival. All it is collecting resources and building he cant take that out.
Why do people misunderstand everything? YOUR WORLDS WILL BE FINE
the ONLY thing different is that the rivers and the NEW mushrooms won't be generated in it.
Why would anyone think that they are going to make an update that deletes your saves? That makes no sense. The only thing that changes is you'll need to wander far away from your current creations to a part of the world that has not been generated yet, IF AND ONLY IF you want to see the biome code at work. Or create a new world to have a pure 1.8 world. That is completely up to you.

This is so true, I don't know why everyone thinks that their worlds will be corrupted...
I've no problem to start a new world since I often start a new one. My worlds never last long actually. I install different mods from time to time, or just get bored.
I never achieved anything, really, or just one or two houses.
I always feel bad about the fact the game is not finished ans this feeling is way more high since I know how much nice stuff we'll get in 1.8. It show how much this game is unfinished, and how much things are missing.
that's why I use lot of mods, to have a kind of polished game, something that look complete, but it's not. How frustrating is that...
And I'm so excited about this update, like never before on any other update. Some mods will be useless, kind of, and this is good.
How does that affect your world? It's just going to be included into the new update. Your maps will be fine. :smile.gif:

my single player world saves?!

In its place will be the SAME Survival, but now where you'll have MUCH more incentive to get off your butt and explore the world.

If you don't, nothing changes.

@jeb_ minecraftforum.net/topic/569909-a… the interviewer asked will survival exist after 1.8 and you said no you dont think so?
@_ganzi_ Aha, I interpreted the question as if the *current* kind of survival mode will remain, and it wont since we're changing it now
