At one point, you could see him making the textures for the game in paint.net, so it's not reused.

Goodness.... I just had a thought.... Creepers are like Daleks, they can Destroy everything that you know, Ever cared for, And even the whole of Reality....
We are all doomed.
The room in this new game looks like one on Minecraft. The blocks look recycled from Minecraft. And when the blocks break, it looks exactly like if they broke on Minecraft.
This game probably has a lot of things recycled from Minecraft, so really, if Notch can put boulders in it, he could put them in Minecraft.
Thing is, I was there from the start of the stream, and half the stream before that when he had to change streams because it got too expensive.
I saw him draw every block by hand. The blocks originally had R's on them instead of a texture that made sense, then they became pink and went through like 5 color changes(there was a point where every side of a block was a different, bright color) as he was testing colors. He even needed to re-draw the text images.
Long story short, it was never Minecraft and none of it came from Minecraft. And it's a different (standalone) game than Minecraft with a different goal than Minecraft, and I doubt there'll be much overlap, especially since this is a game he's making over a weekend and won't be high enough quality, AND YOU CAN'T JUST PASTE CODE FROM ONE GAME INTO ANOTHER.
It won't be in minecraft. Argue all you want, you are just wasting your time.

Hello, I don't usually follow threads that I post in. So if you would like to have a civilized chat / reply / argument that is of the utmost importance, just PM me. =)
Notch made a game with boulders.
-> Ergo, there must be boulders in Minecraft.

If, by some freak chance the usual nonsense I generate seems to help you, there's a nice shiny green + button to tell me that I'm doing the right thing
Tinfoil...just....just shut up. it's a different game just let it go. it sucks you didn't just pay attention before jumping to conclusions but there's absolutely no reason why he'd implement anything from a completely separate game into minecraft.
Omfg, he made it from scratch. All art that's going to be featured in 1.8 IS COMPLETED
The only thing that remains is coding and testing before it get released.
And Escape is completely unrelated to Minecraft
Yep, the only game with pixels in it is Minecraft, right?

Not only is everything in that game made from scratch and not recycled, as per the Ludum Dare rules, the engine is most likely COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from Minecraft.

That's right, this elevator is powered by MURDER and ANIMAL CRUELTY.

Manly blood is both highly acidic AND highly basic, but I'm glad to see you're paying attention.
Am I the only one that looked at this new game he was working on, and thought of Wolfenstein 3d crossed with windows maze Screen saver?
Because that's what it reminded me of.
Could he put boulders in Minecraft, maybe, but why?
I think Notch has a ton of things he wants to add to Minecraft in the future, and I don't know if boulders are one.

I have Asperger's Syndrome, a mental disorder of the Autistic Spectrum, apologies in advance if my posts seem a bit off.
We are all doomed.
Smile!
Got me there.
But it still looks a lot like Minecraft. It sort of acts like Minecraft if you watch him play.
