Wow, the Slender men are awesome!
I hope they just creep around, showing up around your world from time to time and then disappear without a trace. It really would be awesome if they didn't spawn at the same rate as all the other mobs though. They should be rare!
they should be in groups of 0100010101010101010101010!!!!!!!!!!!!
notch could add window blinds so that u open ur blinds and see it planting its face on ur window
I have another idea about Endermen (granted this is speculation). Think about this, Notch was inspired by Ideas from Terraria right? Well what if Endermen only come out durring a cycle of the mood. With the new lighting effects he may add something like this? Like how the Blood moon makes Zombies break down doors (in Terraria), in Minecraft there may be a BloodMoon equivalent that brings out the Endermen for an apocalyptic night that you cant sleep through.
Anyone get a pick of the new launcher? Notch posted a test on Google Plus.
it was just a blank window with some text telling people what to do, i think he was testing if he could make the game launch through a browser and keep it open even if you close the browser, worked fine for me.
Look at the middle left, this mob is holding a block of sand.
Look at the back (middle right, uppish, far back) the mob is holding a block of dirt with grass... i thought u couldnt hold grassy blocks....?
This new mob looks like it has the head and body of a zombie with shortened body, and thus appearing longer legs.
Thank you for lighting that up, 12sea21.
In this picture, I see:
1.an enderman holding a sand block and one holding a grass block
2.a giant mushroom (on the right)
3.if you look to the right of the mushroom, there is water that looks like it is lifted into the air (moving water blocks?)
night time used to be sacred, me being to scared to hunt in caves it was the only time I would hunt for monsters....well so much for that time to trap my self in an obsidian block
I really, really hope Endermen are part of the new NPC villages, and that their AI is programmed specifically to not be seen. Imagine seeing Endermen out of the corner of your eye while looking out your window, and find out that they've been taking apart your house in order to build up their villages.
-Blocking with the RMB(right mouse button) while holding a weapon = Shields or 2 Hands maybe?
and
-New attack animations for all hostile mobs "
I suggested a lot of little things that are now being added via Twitter to Notch and Jeb. I'm hoping I did give them a little spark of an idea to turn it into something of their own but I never get a response from them. I suggested the knocking back mobs idea a long time ago as well.
What would be more amazing if when the player looked at them they just stopped and stared straight at him/her.
Much more mature and more creepy/disgruntling. Screeching and yelling is a child's vision of horror.
No, not at all. If they just stared, then it'd be easy to get used to them. There's nothing stopping people from going up to them and giving them a few punches. Even if they're reasonably uncommon, it'd be too easy to get used to them like creepers. I agree it'd create a very neat, eery atmosphere if they just stared, but the novelty would wear off almost immediately. Becoming hostile, screeching, and dashing towards the player would add some urgency. From a distance, they could stare, but up close would just be stupid. Hell, fleeing and making a noise up close until you're a high enough level to face them would be preferable, but just staring in general? You can't really keep something mysterious in such a restriction-less game. I wasn't suggesting something to make them horrifying, I was suggesting something neat they could do that would make them neat too. They should cause an "Oh ****" moment when you first approach them, and every time after that it should cause the player to be cautious of them. No need to be condescending, thanks. It was just a suggestion, we have no idea what the actual plans are for them anyways.
Ashkin: Gosh can you imagine one just silently watching you
Ashkin: And then you turn around to run away and another has emerged from the forest behind you
Ashkin: And then you look around you and they're everywhere
Ashkin: Hiding in the trees and in the shadows
Ashkin: Watching
Ashkin: D:
Ashkin: It would be cool if they make a very quiet hissing sound or maybe like the wind
Ashkin: And as more gather it gets louder

I've always been this way. A patched-up, crazy matryoshka.

These new mobs look very scary. :ohmy.gif:

"Blocking with RMB while holding a weapon is totally useless unless enemies tell you when they're about to attack. So I'll guess we'll have to add attack animations for all hostile mobs!"
So I guess that adds:
-Blocking with the RMB(right mouse button) while holding a weapon = Shields or 2 Hands maybe?
and
-New attack animations for all hostile mobs "
7. a surface spawning creature only
alright who's been reading Creepypastas?
Their name is farlanders.
In a reference to this.

Because referring them to something from minecraft is much better then referring to them as some old creepypasta.

Source? I've only seen people (including Notch) reffer to them as Endermen.
Nothing else.
It's makes tons more sense and sounds much better then some idiot rediters idea.
