Is there supposed to be something extra in /paulscode/sound that I didn't get with IC2?
EDIT checking AudioMod today when I get home from work. Hopefully that helps.
The Audio Mod is where you get the paulscode folder.
Yup, I've got the AudioMod--I'll re-check and/or re-install it, because I may or may not have missed a file. I'm at work right now, but thanks. I'll come back if I screw it up again! :tongue.gif:
Okay, so I didn't screw up the AudioMod install, and everything works perfectly *until* I put IC2 in the mods folder. then it throws the error I get above.
Hey guys
I have a Problem while playing Minecraft with the Mods in the list
everytime I'm using any kind of mod item the game crashs with a blackscreen.
If i place a generator or anything else it crashs, when I'm using the Portalgun, it crashs
and so on ..
In the Modloader.txt is no error and minecraft itself doesn't show me any error, too.
I have installed everything like its shown in the video
Go ahead and post modloader.txt in spoiler tags anyways, we can see the mod versions you are using, detect duplicates, and many other things with it even if there is no error. You can also use the program in the following quote to see if you get an error message from minecraft there.
iChun posted this program on his portal gun thread to help get the error messages. It will print debug messages from Minecraft in a command prompt so you can copy them. Post that and we'll see where we can go from there.
Okay, so I didn't screw up the AudioMod install, and everything works perfectly *until* I put IC2 in the mods folder. then it throws the error I get above.
Thoughts?
Would you happen to be on a Mac? Mac users tend to have problems with AudioMod, because by default macs will replace the entire vanilla paulscode folder with the one from AudioMod instead of merging the folders and only replacing files that need to be replaced. If that applies to you, make sure you tell it to merge the folders.
If that doesn't apply to you, I am not sure really. Make sure you're installing into the minecraft.jar in the correct order. Modloader, Mlmp, Forge, AudioMod, etc.

I have all of those mods installed (excluding railcraft, recipe book, minecart compatibility layer, convenient inventory, and TMI) with optifine, codechickenloader, codechickencore, rei's minimap, computercraft, and powercrystal's power converters. They work fine except that after a few minutes minecraft black screens and closes, unless I use a minecraft error test .bat file. If I use the minecraft error test .bat file then an error message is created in a seemingly random folder on my computer. One thing I noticed about the location was that it was always one folder up from the folder my .minecraft backup was in. Here is the error message:

I have a problem whit NEI. Everything work perfectly except that when i go into my inventory, the background (around everything that shows your world) comes up in print screen or black or white (don't know which). Remember that it is only the background, everything else is fine.

I am on a Mac, you're right. And it did exactly what you said. But! I found a fix (that didn't involve getting the vanilla .paulscode folder! well, it did, but it wasnt from the vanilla .jar)--at the IC2 site, under the "install tutorial" page, at the bottom is a line of very small text saying something like this:
"if you have issues with AudioMod and slow load times, crashes, etc, install this file in your .jar and replace the existing one."
That file was a *complete* version of the .paulscode folder, complete with all the files that IC2 calls for that don't exist in the download of AudioMod that is on Risugami's ModLoader thread. (IMHO, AudioMod should say that you need to add the new files, not replace the folder. Even if it's only Mac OSX that has the issue)
Everything (except portalgun) works like a charm now. I'm pleased as punch with myself.
Hopefully this can help someone else with the same problem!
PS thank you for the response, even though I fixed it before I saw your post. I appreciate the effort!

No problem, glad you found a fix for that, and noted as an "easy mode" I can give to mac users using IC2 and audiomod :smile.gif: Something about Risugami's faq makes me think he is a little Mac racist :tongue.gif: I don't have one myself but that's the most common problem people have with Audiomod.
I followed direwolf's instructions on the video by opening up the config file, but Windows told me that it didn't know what program to use to open it with, so I can't make the change.
I thought that by downloading direwolf's worl, since the configs were being overwritten it may fix the issue, but it didn't. I think I may be taking the wrong part of direwolf's world, I'm just taking the big folder with the four subfolders inside it and dumping it in .minecraft, can somebody please tell me where I'm going wrong?
Help on either issue would be appreciated, thanks,
CalumE5
99.99% of config files are opened with notepad regardless of what extension the author gives them. General computer tip: you can open any file with notepad. Most times you just get some garbled mess that is useless, but configuration files are generally notepad and eyeball friendly, even in the latest and greatest games. You can't break anything if you don't save the file you opened though, so don't be afraid to use it to look.
Sounds like you are installing the configs correctly though, not sure why it would be troublesome. Direwolf might have missed a file or two again, or you don't have the same versions of the mods, or you're on a mac and it's replacing folders instead of merging them. No way to know without seeing an error log like modloader.txt.

If you mean the RP2 microblocks that you make with the saws, it's one of the downsides of using Optifine as far as I can tell. If you aren't using Optifine (or another mod that messes with the graphics engine), then I have no clue. And infinite springs can be drank up faster than they regenerate with a pump running full tilt if you are unlucky and it pumps exactly the wrong source blocks. They should be at least a 3x3 square, but if you're having problems, make a bigger spring.

Did you install the mods in the minecraft.jar in the correct order? Modloader, mp, Forge, AudioMod, Convenient inventory, TMI, minecart CL. Perhaps you installed TMI before CI and when you installed CI, you put mg.class in, which breaks TMI and causes some problems. At least your first error is probably a TMI problem, the second I am not so sure about, but if your install order is out of whack, that'll probably help.
Thanks Wereducky, I think I'm almost there - I've managed to resolve the opening the config files, however I think I'm now having another ID conflict. I'd crashed once and got the forestry - railcraft clash as expected, so changed the forestry base file to have copper and tin generation as false, but I started up Minecraft again and got what looks like a similar ID conflict. Here's the Modloader text, hopefully the Spoiler works. I'll put the bottom bit about the conflict underneath in unspoilered form:
Since we used 195 for the chunkloader, I checked some IDs around there and found that a few before that were open, but I am using a slightly different set of mods.
You could take out forestry, run the game, use TMI/NEI to find some block IDs that are open, and then change forestry's config file and put it back in. Just remember block IDs are 255 to 123, vanilla uses IDs before that.

I think it was because I forgot to put in Forestry and IC to start with, only after I'd initially run the game. Got it all figured out now and everything's working perfectly, thanks for your help!!
Glad to hear, have tons of fun!

Hey all, very nice mod list! But euh... I've got 2 problems.. when i play minecraft, i see there is no ic² and Equivalent exchange. Can somebody help me :s?
What do you mean? The recipes don't work? The ores are missing? You can't use EE to get IC2 items? There's an error message about them somewhere?
Did you follow the installation video? Can you post your modloader.txt from your .minecraft folder?
How long can I keep this up? Anyone else want to play questions? Would that work in text form like this? Should I be sorry for digressing?

this happend while starting minecraft with all the modloaders and TMI and placing a Redstone-Torch
so it seems to be a problem caused by tho modloader-mods
I installed the modloaders the way you told me above
the Mods folder was empty when I started minecraft
Weird, does it do it without TMI? What version of Java are you using? Perhaps you should get version 7 here. You want JRE.

I am afraid I don't know how to help you then :sad.gif: Seems to me you've done everything right. I can't seem to find anything searching the error either. Maybe your downloads of modloader and forge are corrupt. Are you making a modded .minecraft on a XP PC and then trying to copy it onto a windows 7 PC perhaps? What compression program are you using to install these mods with? Really stabbing at the dark now.
zx.class is only modified by forge, so forge is your problem mod for sure, but I am not savvy enough to know why.

Is there supposed to be something extra in /paulscode/sound that I didn't get with
IC2?EDIT checking AudioMod today when I get home from work. Hopefully that helps.
Did you install Risugami's AudioMod? Find it in the first post or here: Risugami's ModLoader and Audio Mod.
The Audio Mod is where you get the paulscode folder.
Yup, I've got the AudioMod--I'll re-check and/or re-install it, because I may or may not have missed a file. I'm at work right now, but thanks. I'll come back if I screw it up again! :tongue.gif:
Thoughts?
Go ahead and post modloader.txt in spoiler tags anyways, we can see the mod versions you are using, detect duplicates, and many other things with it even if there is no error. You can also use the program in the following quote to see if you get an error message from minecraft there.
Modloader, Mlmp, Forge, AudioMod, etc.

you have downloaded a corrupt mod file. Install every thing one by one to locate it. then re download it
I have a mac too, but i am a pro at installing mods now. all you need to do is not copy over the folders in the jar file you need to go to every root in each subfile. If you want i have a tool that merges 2 folder together

Dont replace portal gun mod dire, because iCun is working on a fix soon
This is a problem with java and your computer (I'm fairly sure)

This is a problem with your computer and java (I"m fairly sure)
thanks it IC2 v.1.43
it works fine now
I am on a Mac, you're right. And it did exactly what you said. But! I found a fix (that didn't involve getting the vanilla .paulscode folder! well, it did, but it wasnt from the vanilla .jar)--at the IC2 site, under the "install tutorial" page, at the bottom is a line of very small text saying something like this:
It always is. You can tell by it being the last thing on modloader.txt before the zlib failure.
Please use spoiler tags next time.
Glad to hear, have tons of fun!
Weird, does it do it without TMI? What version of Java are you using? Perhaps you should get version 7 here. You want JRE.
keep the good LP series ^^
zx.class is only modified by forge, so forge is your problem mod for sure, but I am not savvy enough to know why.
