It doesn't give any errors, but neither my glass axe or my glass pick or my glass hoe will craft properly. I tried the recipe and it doesn't work, i tried adding spaces to the coding, i tried moving the sticks around in the crafting table, but none of them work. Help plz?
EDIT: oh but the shovel works perfectly.

probs me being a noob again.. but how do you install a mod without having to modifiy the jar? because i know ur supposed to use a clean/modloader jar to decompile... so shouldn't i not do that? Or is there another place to do it?
huh? i'm confused. You put ModLoader in a clean jar, decompile, and then when you're done modding you recompile then reobfuscate. After you reobfuscate go in the reobf folder and your files you modified will be there. Then take those files and put them into your jar.

Hello, I would like to thank you for putting up a generation tutorial, but I am having a bit of trouble. I keep getting an error that shuts down really quickly. I can't even see what the error says it shuts down so quickly. Here is my code:
package net.minecraft.src;
import java.util.Random;
public class mod_RedBerry extends BaseMod{
public mod_RedBerry(){
ModLoader.AddName(redBerry, "Red Berry");
}
public static final Item redBerry;
static{
redBerry = new ItemFood(200, 5, false).setIconIndex(ModLoader.addOverride("/gui/items.png", "/fieldz/RedBerry.png")).setItemName("redBerry");
}
public static final Block redBerryBush;
static{
redBerryBush = new Block(101, ModLoader.addOverride("/terrain.png", "/fieldz/RedBerryBush.png"), Material.leaves).setHardness(0.5F).setResistance(2.0F).setBlockName("redBerryBush");
}
public void GenerateSurface(World world, Random random, int i, int j){
for(int k = 0; k <0.1; k++){
int RandPosX = i + random.nextInt(16);
int RandPosY = random.nextInt(128);
int RandPosZ = j + random.nextInt(16);

}

Yeah, I sorta copy pasted your gen code just to see if I could get it to load up. Just temporary.
this is from too many generating, turn down your generation amount a bit
lol, had a big look, you dont even specify the amount! (is that from my code?)
but make it look more like this...
hold on, had another look, and its completly wrong :ohmy.gif:
oh wait, nvm its just that you put your brackets in a wierd spot xD
it should look like this
public void GenerateSurface(World world, Random random, int i, int j)
{
for(int k = 0; k <0.1; k++)
{
for(int k1 = 0; k1 <0.1; k1++)

int RandPosY = random.nextInt(128);
int RandPosZ = j + random.nextInt(16);
(new WorldGenT()).generate(world, random, RandPosX, RandPosY, RandPosZ);
}
}
}
hey madgoblin, recognize any of these errors? This is when I try to run startclient.bat. When I use actual minecraft it doesn't work either though.

I have no experience with eclipse, but I think the PNG should be in the folder the class files from eclipse. So then:
"eclipse/???/OreMod/Items/mithril/mithrilore.png" With ??? as the folder with the class files

I didn't read your code, but when you get past the mojang logo and it crashes, it's a ModLoader problem. Look at your ModLoader.txt in .minecraft and post it on here.

huh? i'm confused. You put ModLoader in a clean jar, decompile, and then when you're done modding you recompile then reobfuscate. After you reobfuscate go in the reobf folder and your files you modified will be there. Then take those files and put them into your jar.

Thinking about coming a mod to simply not moderate.
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
and in minecraft i dont have enough time to read te error log
please help
I didn't read your code, but when you get past the mojang logo and it crashes, it's a ModLoader problem. Look at your ModLoader.txt in .minecraft and post it on here.
thanks, I forgot that :tongue.gif: but I still have problems.
Yes, I found this interesting error in there:

Remake your image, it thinks it's corrupted.
Yes, what grox said. Remake the image.
EDIT: I thought I deserved a +1 on my post, but only harry got one :/

need help on this idea
this is what i wanted to do
1. I wanted to change the texture of item over time (like a looping texture) no need for clicking, it will just change
2. I wanted this method to be incorporated at the mod_mymod class, under the constructor:
my item is capsule
code:
capsule.iconIndex = ModLoader.addOverride("/gui/items.png", "/Item/capsule.png");
so i have three textures
capsule1
capsule2
capsule3
and i wanted this textures to loop in game, non-stop
things that I already tried:
making a while loop
making random integers and if statements
But both crashed minecraft, is there another to loop textures for "ITEMS" like a sword that changes color every .5 seconds or less
thanks
