OK, I have a problem with my mods and idk whats wrong? They recompile and reobfuscate just fine, and they get to the menu screen (where you pick Singleplayer or Multiplayer) but when I try and make a new world (i currently dont have any worlds) it crashes and goes non-responsive and I have to end it in the Task Manager. Any idea what could be causing this and how to fix it?
Thanks in advance
tell me and ill include the .javas that Ive modded (theres 14)
OK, I still have my old problem (cant create a new world) but I found out I can play on ones that were already created, if that gives any helpful information :hopefullface:
new problem though, I added new things to the mod and now it crashes before the Mojang screen

I like your tutorials a lot! They have helped me so much. A problem I have is that I have an idea and instead of spending time doing the tutorial and then my project. I use your examples and I make it apply to my stuff. Well I finally hit a snag after a flawless first tutorial. The getUniqueEntityId() function retreives a number that is generated everytime you run Minecraft with ModLoader right? So this "number" must be assigned to a variable or something so that it can be refrenced to say, a mob that can drop the item. The problem is that when I try to add
return Item.myExample.shiftedIndex
to a mobs dropId list I get an error saying that myExample, the item, doesn't exist. See! You have taught me some stuff because otherwise this would have been a 1st grader explaining geometry. Any help is appreciated. I'm going to add a bit of code to show you where MCP threw up the flag.
protected int getDropItemId()
{
return Item.feather.shiftedIndex;
return Item.rawChickenBreast.shiftedIndex;
}
Thank you in advance. I know this will be a cinch for you.
The videos are represented as youtube Id's. He gives you "_dPQmE5tsF0" below the topic and so you add that to "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUTTHATCODEHERE"
Okay, So I am modding in MCP and I have created a mod for Chicken wings to be dropped after a chicken is killed. I come up with one error. I am a newbie at Java so I need someone to help me with this.
The Error:
src/minecraft/net/minecraft/src/mod_Wing.java:7: invalid method declaration; return type required
public mod_Wing()
Here is line 7:
public mod_Wing()
Okay, What is this "Invalid Return Type" And How Do I fix it?

My thoughts on your error:
the rawChickenBreast isnt in Item.java, so the Item.rawChickenBreast isnt found (the Item. is telling the game what item in Item.java to drop) you would have to change it to mod_mymod.rawChickenBreast (whatever you named your modded files) that way the code would tell the game to take the item (rawChickenBreast) from mod_mymod.java and not Item.java
if that made any sense to you I will be amazed...but hopefully you get it working (I think)
Hello Everyone,
I would like to apologize for my lack of content lately, I've been really busy with a bunch of stuff and should have a new tutorial up tomorrow =]
Thanks for the tutorials I have my new ores and theyre generating how I want. Could anyone tell me how I can make it so my new ores require iron or diamond tools in order to mine? At the moment they are mineable with wooden tools.
it recompiled and reobfuscated fine, but when running minecraft I get an error and dont know what to do?
