Hello Asheo,
Your app is missing some things, you quoted an intro line from the creed rather than a real right or responsibility, and frankly there are some troublesome "hints" that you sprinkled all throughout that are worrisome. We have to wait for a mod to review your list, but honestly I can't say your chances are looking good right now in your application's current state. Sorry.

Aye! I typically set up the Forge server on my chromebook, and once everything is all set I upload it via FTP to the server folder. After that, you have to get Multicraft to point to the Forge jar, not the standard Minecraft one. ^^

Hi there. ^^
Well lol... i wonder what happened to all the other Gulliver servers that now we're apparently the only ones left! XD
I know that's not the case, but chances are the other ones left haven't really promoted themselves much [or yet].
Still, I'd love to hear more reasons why you'd like to be here... simply being the only ones doesn't necessarily guarantee we'll be to your liking.
Also, if you can expand question #3 a little more, and add a few more interesting fact in #4 since they're a bit generic at the moment.
1. bobeevee
2. I've been looking for Gulliver Servers for a while, but when I found a few, I mostly ended up being alone most of time. This resulted my getting awfully bored and leaving from lonesomeness. This server looks like it has a friendly community, so I'm hoping I'll make some friends here.
3. My usual talent is adapting to a whole new surrounding. For example, if the entire population of the server were nice, I'd adapt by becoming nice. I have very few skills, I'm a good survivor if that counts for something? I play Minecraft from time to time nowadays, but I haven't been on this mod for about a year. I got an odd personality, but I try to be nice when I can be. As for aspiration... I'm kind of good at leading people sometimes...?
4. Yes, I usually play soccer.
No, I don't have a job.
I don't do charity work yet, but I plan to.
No, I use a Windows.
Sadly no, I am not exactly skilled at designing games or mods.
5. "And by extension, once you have enough experience, please be willing to assist new Novice players,
or younger players, in acquainting them to the server, their rights, and their responsibilities."
6. The server's official currency is cheese.
I hope my application is good enough to at least get me a shot in getting in the server. Thanks for reading this if you have, and I hope I get a response soon.
Well, ah... you sort of double-posted there. Might want to clean that up ^^
Anywho, besides that, you filled out all the areas of the app, and you have better than average grammar. I think your formatting could be better, but it's still at least average. Your personal facts are also just replies to the guidelines offered, though they're still random and personal-enough facts, so that works.
Overall... I think you've earned yourself a whitelist, Bobee. Welcome to the server ^^
-BurgerWarrior, Whitelisting Moderator Extraordinaire
1. What is your Minecraft username (or "IGN")?
_Ishida_
(Underscores are included in the username.)
2. Please explain why you would like to join the Server.
My experience with Minecraft has been a rather...fragmented one in which both myself and various friends have been on and off since the game was pre-released in it's Alpha stage. Although many have recommended a variety of public (non-whitelist) servers of various mods, there always appears to be a sense of disconnect from other players as self-interest dominates the playing field.
From what I have gathered from both the application process and extensive yet flexible layout of regulations, the server will not only provide a sense of security and order but also one of community - a sense that has unfortunately been lacking in past experiences. I want to not only participate in such a community but also spread its creed and values towards others - to restore that sense of belonging or trust amongst others of similar interests that many gaming communities have unfortunately lost simply from growing too large.
As for Gulliver, the mod in particular interests me not only because of its uniqueness but also because it serves to link fantasy with pragmatism; a particularly fun example that comes to mind is a pseudo Taxi-service of larger players carrying around smaller players for transportation (with a fee, of course).
3. Please explain how your talents, skills, experience, personality traits, and aspirations can help contribute positively to our server.
I will be the first to fully admit that my skills in planning and completing full architecture in Minecraft are...lacking. Nevertheless, the process of building structures having to either comprehensively plan or correct implementation on the fly is like a solving puzzle - easy to watch, but difficult to master - yet all so addicting. I not only endeavor to simply build for the sake of mastery, but also to provide a better environment for other players to establish or demonstrate their own skills. Whether it's in aiding resource gathering or simply in discussing tips, I want others to have the right foot in the door and not make the same mistakes I tend to do when I play the game.
I've also participated in numerous other communities, including the Oathkeepers guild in Spiral Knights, which encouraged casual play and events for the sake of fun rather than competition, as well as participated on the Virtue server in City of Heroes, which had been known for its variety of lorecrafters and roleplayers. For the latter, I did not roleplay too often, though I did work on a variety of user-created stories and missions with its Architect Entertainment system. Having participated in both communities, my own philosophy now is to follow their principles: provide other players with mutual respect and understand the variety in situation as well as method of play. Of course, having fun and having/creating a fun story or two to tell is nice too.
4. Please list five random facts about yourself that can help differentiate you from other players.
My astrological sign is Aquarius - which heavily reflects my "wavering" source of ideas and focus on a particular project. Some days I simply cannot create anything from scratch while others it feels like I have a steady stream of inspiration coursing throughout my imagination.
I have been playing Minecraft since it's Alpha stage, but I have not been keeping up with recent updates and thus lack knowledge on certain aspects (e.g. hoppers, horses, etc.).
I primarily spend my time on games with some level of user created content such as Garry's Mod, Minecraft, The Sims and Champions Online. (RIP City of Heroes/City of Villains)
I have a fascination for interactions with fictional figures that are seemingly similar to each other with a whimsical or unique twist. Interactions between people of greatly different sizes or the ever popular "alternate universe" scenario in stories, for instance, always have a sense of charm to me without losing my willing suspension of disbelief.
I will be attending college and aspiring towards a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering as of next year.
5. To ensure you understand your rights and responsibilities on our server, please read the Novice's Creed, and write down one right or responsibility that you enjoy the most.
"18. Please avoid begging Staff to whitelist your friends without an application – if your friends wish to join our server, they must complete a whitelist application of their own."
This rule in particular I especially find satisfying to have laid out, as I have learned from personal experience how quickly the personality of a friend changes in a different environment.
One example is the "Friends Only" option in Left 4 Dead that allowed anyone from your friends list to jump into a game without an invitation. I originally thought this would be okay as I would have people that I personally trusted around, but whether or not they had trusted each other was a different matter altogether. When interests clashed and attitudes began to flare, things only got worse from there and the presence of both groups of friends in one place only became an intrusion for everyone, unfortunately.
Much in the same manner, I can only imagine how much grief or simply groaning that would result if this responsibility was not specifically addressed. Hats off to you guys!
6. And finally, to confirm that you read the Big Sister Server Quick Guide please write down the name of the official server currency.
To quote the citizens in Half-Life 2, "Sometimes...I dream about cheese." This is my first post on the Minecraft forums! I am no longer an expert lurker anonymous forum browser; my days of being too reluctant to "test the community waters" end today.
Wow, I was so excited to see your app on first sight, until I realized you [very likely accidentally] double-posted your app. Then I deflated, although overall your original app wasn't all that bad, except:
Beware in thinking you're not going to get bored and lonesome here. Especially during school weeks, it can get very boring and lonesome sometimes -- you have to be be prepared to entertain yourself for long stretches of time during the interim. ^^
I would recommend you be nice all the time, not just because everyone else is. It makes you less susceptible to peer pressure and bad influences if you become your own moral compass. ^^
Please note that the example questions are there for example purposes only, and not just to be answered. (unless you have something really interesting to add to it) We're expecting you to add your own random facts, otherwise you'll come off as a dullard (which I trust you're not). ;P
That's pretty much it. Welcome to the server otherwise. ^^
1. What is your Minecraft username (or "IGN")?
_Ishida_
(Underscores are included in the username.)
etc etc etc
Hello Ishida-kun. ^^
Welcome to the forum and I'm glad you've decided to brave the waters and not be such a lurker. Your post is very nice and long and thus far deliciously fun to read, and I hope we can be a good fit for your interests.
I will however be honest and tell you ahead of time that you may need to temper your expectations on our community; despite our advancements, we simply don't have the population, the volume of active participation, or the extent of inter-communication to really qualify as a "community" in the classic sense. It's furthered by the fact that our server is mainly recreational, so we value being a fun, tranquil and relaxing place (a digital escape from the rigors of digital life) first-and-foremost over being a replacement for a proper RL community.
The documentation and creeds represent ideals to aspire too, but there will be leeway and there will on occasion be tolerable breaches of the rules -- so long as the latter doesn't disrupt the overall peace, they can be permitted to pass. Plus most of the actual enforcement aspect is contingent on some technical plugins that we've had some problems updating to 1.6.2, so currently we're kind of doing a lot of improvisation in our Deputy/Commissioner/Moderator ranks till such time as we can get this up and running properly.
In short, we may not meet your expectations if you're expecting us to be more than what we are, but regardless perhaps you can still enjoy yourself and perhaps you can jump-start some semblance of a community spirit if that is what you truly wish to do.
In any event, that's all I can share for now... your application will be reviewed later by a moderator. Thank you.

Sorry if I came off a bit presumptious there; I tend to go overboard in rheotoric whenever I'm trying to make a good impresion. Romanticizing is a bit of a bad habit of mine.
Now that's it's a different day on my end, I'll try to be more down to Earth with my responses. In short, I've gotten back into games with creative aspects such as Garry's Mod and wanted to give Minecraft another try. Many friends had either moved on or were interested in everything but building. I'm not expecting the sheer magnitude as to what I might have given the impression of; I'm just looking for a place where people are willing to be chill and have a good time without being overly competitive. You guys gave out good vibes, so I figured I'd give it a go.
There's also of course the fact that Gulliver's installed, which has probably been one of the most fun mods I've ever played, personally. I haven't been able to try it out with other people yet though, but it sounds like fun! I'll try to be less "in the clouds", and thanks again for looking over my application! Even if it is denied, I admire your honesty and courtesy.

I'll get on whenever I can, but first I need to find out how to install all the needed mods and stuff to my minecraft. Hope to see you guys soon!

Oh, to the right of the Quote and Multiquote buttons at the bottom, you will see two faint text links: one for Edit, the other for Report. Use the Edit one to manipulate the contents of an earlier post -- on this forum, it seems like you can change it forever, which is very helpful. ^^
Oh, and thanks to the application process, you should have already been acquainted with my Blog Guide, which should describe using detailed guides how to install the latest Gulliver Forged:
It will be in the section under "Sister Server Setup". ^^
I made an update to the Gulliver Forge AutoInstaller guide today to address some recent problems with the Auto-Installer not working, so be sure to redownload it if you already have it. ^^

Hello again, and not a problem. Typically I love people who romanticize things and turn everything into an opportunity for adventure and discovery and betterment. However, we recently had an incident whereby some individuals misrepresented the intentions of my server and I, and were willing to disrupt the peace in order to protest the disconnect between assumption and reality. Had they relaxed and left well enough alone, I'm sure they would still be here and slowly, through patience, understanding and compromise, could have encouraged the kind of dedicated community culture they were seeking to find.
Ergo, now I have to essentially add a disclaimer, to avoid people expecting more out of us -- or me -- than we can possibly deliver given our limited time and resources. ^^
Thank you for your explanation and your understanding, and there is no need to fret about a denial as I will admit you in myself. Welcome and please make yourself at home.
Ah, I'm so sorry to hear about the incident! It's not a problem and while I don't know the full extent, I can understand the necessity of the disclaimer.
And a big thank you for the admission! Cheers!

Wow, I was so excited to see your app on first sight, until I realized you [very likely accidentally] double-posted your app. Then I deflated, although overall your original app wasn't all that bad, except:

Thanks for giving me this chance, and sorry for accidentally posting my app twice... I'm really not sure how that happened, but I'll try editing and fixing it when I find out how!
Oh, and thanks to the application process, you should have already been acquainted with my Blog Guide, which should describe using detailed guides how to install the latest Gulliver Forged:
http://ciabatta-breadalot.blogspot.com/p/guides.html

Cheers!
Alright! I fixed it so I only posted my application once! And thank you, I'll make sure to look at it when I have the time!
And yes, as I mentioned in-game, don't forget to also check out Little Brother for a different kind of fun than the Big Sister server. After all, sometimes one needs a vacation from stability. ^^
