Regardless as to whether or not there is a market for it, it is a good idea to offer it as it requires nothing extra to set up.
Because providing additional services always have a cost. Either from cutting "production" of existing services or adding to existing load. The host wish to make an informed decision, because there is no such thing as "nothing required" services or goods.

Providing MCPE hosting doesn't have an additional cost if you're already selling normal Multicraft Minecraft hosting. It is merely an extra option you can pursue for free (provided you have space) to gain more clients.
That what I meant it requires whatever the resources you need to host it. Taking away from Minecraft hosting so the host wanna know "should I do it or is more beneficial to just have the resources for Minecraft hosting?" There two reasons it would be worth it A it good market and/or B to get more customers over to the business because of the additional option. That I think what the host is trying to get to.

The resources would only be used if someone had actually purchased the MCPE hosting in which case, yes, it would be worth it.
Ahh alright so you means it simply used for that or Minecraft hosting without dedicating resources for just that? So it wouldn't be worries about canceling one over the other.

My question is: Why would any self-respecting host mix different games (or even different editions of the same game in this case) on a single node? That's asking for trouble and some really bad performance issues. MCPE is known for its usage of large amounts of RAM and oftentimes CPU power on the host's side.

No self-repecting host would... so about 5% of Minecraft hosts won't.
