It's amazing how much you regular members know about moderator.....
I have a lot of experience moderating other forums before and really as long as you have read the forum rules regular members can know and understand what moderators do
If you do not have timeti read through 2,000 posts then you would not have time to be a moderator in my opinion. Mods are keeping the forums a safe and friendly place for everyone so they have to practically read every thread and post to make sure they are following the rules and a not off topic.
Correct me if I'm wrong in any way on that mods.
You are right of course, however on a huge forum as minecraftforum it is pretty hard to read évery message. We sure do check as much as we can and I always look and search content to see if it is safe, but it's impossible for us to read through 2000 posts at once. Luckily, because of that we have the report button which is really useful. Of course we moderate non-reported messages as exactly as we moderate the reported ones but it does really help us point out where the bad content is.
Does your profile picture have anything to do with if you be accepted/declined? (Excluding the inapropriate ones.)
If you call people dude, ex: "Dude, that mod is awesome, I love it." does that have anything to do with if you be accepted or not?
technically, it does if it breaks the rules. If you go by the rules it shouldnt be a problem. This question has been asked before if I remember correctly. Try searching the top right if you have some questions, because most likely someone else has asked it before as well.
Dude, as long as it follows the rules and the rest of the post is quality then it's fine.

Ya I was just saying that they have to read a lot of posts but with all of the sectional mods together that is a lot of posts read and it seems to be working out great.
Regardless, that would be irrelevant. What staff look for in a moderator applicant is quality in posts, and potential to benefit the community. You're language and use of terminology won't make a difference. The same would go for your profile picture: unless it is something extremely racist / discriminatory, then it is irrelevant as Cestis said.
I have a quick question, what qualifies as contribue to the forums? Is it generally just trying to be helpful to other users? I believe I might of just answered my own question, but it doesn't hurt to ask right?

One of the ways yes, you can also contribute via reporting rule breaking posts, abiding to the rules yourself, answering questions to the best of your abiities, etc. You do not need to be "helpful" per se, but being a good member is a contribution in itself as well. A forum cannot run without its members.

Thanks! I have gained a serious intrest in helping other people. I will try my best to help other users and try my best to be a role model.
It's ok if you are a moderator and go to a thread and say: "Dude, I really like the mod you have made"
But it's not really considered appropriate to send someone an infraction (which means he gets a warning level) saying "Hey dude, I deleted your message as it was against the rules". But the default warning system already has a build-in greeting so I don't think you will call someone a dude by habit or by accident when giving an infraction.

Not to be picky but I have waited exactly three weeks just to get a status report and it just keeps saying "pending" I know these are the types of comments you don't want on your forum but is there something wrong with the forum server or is it just me...
P.S Is this uncommon? I know you (critcsquid) said it could take longer than a week to atleast respond with a status report but three weeks is a little nerve wrecking if you know what I mean, please remember I don't want to be annoying or get a full message report on why I didn't get the position...I just wanna know if I got accepted!

1. That has nothing to do with it. Avatars are part of your personality.
2. No. It's your opinion.

Edit: ninja'd!

1. More or less 2 weeks ago.
2. New batch is only imported when the current batch is done, size of the batch to be imported is irrelevant.

it can take over a month
From what i have heard you get a ton of applications daily so I can assume it will take a long time until we hear back Is that correct?
this isn't Jeopardy...
