My avatars always seem really small compared to the actual image size. I upscale them, give them a different name, and they never get bigger. How can I fix this?
150x300 is the tallest but 200x300 is the highest res. Any larger than that the picture will be resized and if it was animated it will lose all animation.

200 is still resized down to 156.
Unless you know something i don't.
I don't know why animations lose their animatedness if they're over 200.
My avatar is 156, same size as yours in comparison.
oh okay i think i understand it.
Avatars are displayed at 156x300.
But they are saved at 200x300
Which doesn't make much sense to me, but okay.
Unless its only displayed as 156 on my monitor, but i have tested on multiple.
My avatar is supposed to be 192x291 but is displayed as 187x283 which doesn't make sense since people who use 200x300 avatars get displayed as 187x281 for me. Seems weird that mine would be displayed slightly larger than theirs.

200x300 avatars will be shorter than a 150x300 avatar on display because the website resizes it down to fit, while keeping the aspect ratio. i believe.
You are browsing zoomed in.
That is why it seems at odd resolutions.
(from what i can tell)
And as i explained before.
200x300 avatar resized down to fit = 156 x 234 (around the same size Chimeras avatar is displayed at, for comparison)
156x300 avatar resized down to fit = 156 x 300

Kind of strange that my browser was zoomed in, because when I first joined the forums I zoomed it out 4 or 5 times so more would show up on the page. I had to zoom out another 3 times to get your avatar to show up at the right size. Although my avatar still shows up as being 2 pixels taller then avatars that are saved as 200x300.
Okay ill ditch "resolutions/pixels" and use aspect ratio instead.
a 200x300 avatar has an aspect ratio of 2:3
a 150(156)x300 avatar has an aspect ratio of 1:2
the forums will resize an image down to display at 1:2.
It takes a bunch more downsizing to make a 2:3 image fit within 1:2, so an image with high starting width will end up being shorter.
In fact, your avatar could be 64 pixels taller while keeping the same display width and picture quality. (in theory)
Also, Ctrl + 0 will reset zoom to default, generally.
No luck there.

that is, 300 tall, or double the width.
