I have Bright House TV service, and I recently saw a commercial saying that they're going 100% digital. It also said that every TV will need some sort of digital adapter. My TV (1080p) does not have a cable box, so I just hook it up directly to the line going into my house and watch in low resolution. What does this mean for me? Am I going to need a cable box?

Hello Spartan,
My name is Gary and I am the Forums Manager for Bright House Networks. To confirm you live in our Central Florida service area right? If so you are correct you will either need a digital adapter, cable box or cable card enabled device. If you have already obtained your digital adapter that is all you will need.

It's in digital, so no adapter will be needed. The adapter would only be required for analogue TVs.

This is not correct. Regardles of your television (unless it supports cable cards) you will need either the DA, Box or Cable Card enabled device like a Tivo, Silicon Dust etc....
Dang, I was hoping this would be an excuse to get a DVR in my room. So, all of my channels will be in HD after the update, cable box or not?
With the DA you will get any channel within the standard tier including any related HD channels. If you subscribe to Premier (formerly digital) service you would still only get the standard tier with a DA. To get the additional channels the Premier tier offers you would need either a digital box, dvr or again....cable card and cable card enabled device.

Oh well, I guess you will just have to keep that VCR player hooked up for a bit longer...
At least 86% of what I say is always correct.
