I need some help building a computer. I want the price under $950. I am going to buy the parts over the course of a few months to keep costs down. I would like an intel processor.
Games I will be playing.
-Battlefield 4
-EU4
-Total War Rome 2
-Minecraft
And any other good ones that come out.
I want to make it future proof for a few years. Easily able to be upgraded would be nice. I will use pcpartpicker.com
you would be best off buying all the parts at once, within a few months a new line of GPUs will be out and out-date almost everything else.
so yeah, come back when you have the money.

I have the money. I was going to try and get them cheaper though if I can.

I know its a bit over your buget but the parts may be worth checking out. Hope this helped.
that a bad build...

660Ti is outdated, PSU looks unreliable and is way too overkill, RAM is too expensive.
Why 8350? 8320 is cheaper and is the same except there's a 500Mhz clock speed difference.
IIRC the 8350 is a higher binned 8320 and is able to acheive higher overclocked if need be.
also for two other reasons.
the $50 difference wouldn't have made much of a difference anywhere else.
and because Yolo.
you did, although nothing intel has beats this in price/performance.
the 8350 will perform just like a 3570k in 99% of games.
unless you know, this is a starcraft 2 only build.

Alright thanks for the help.Do I not need a cpu cooler? I'm also not sure how to pick a case.
Do I not need a cpu cooler? I'm also not sure how to pick a case.
you don't need a cpu cooler unless your overclocking. the CPU comes with a stock one in the box that can hold it off unless your overclocking.
and the case i included is fine. if you want a different one just click edit then remove the case and add one in.

No. You should never recommend your own computer to someone else unless it fits their criteria EXACTLY.
And really, that's quite a horrible build. You put a locked processor in a motherboard that was designed for professional overclockers, and used a GTX 660 ti, which is horrible in price/performance. And somehow you got an 8GB kit that costs $80.
1. What do you mean by locked processor.
2. I am getting a motherboard because I want to overclock
3. If you can find me a Nvidia Graphics Card for a good price that would be great. The 660 ti is not that bad maybe not as good as the 670 but it is (to me anway) a lot cheaper.
4. Lets just forget that I even mentioned that RAM stick

Locked multipler. AKA no overclocking (or extremely limited)
2. I am getting a motherboard because I want to overclock
YOU BOUGHT A LOCKED PROCESSOR SO YOU CAN'T OVERCLOCK!
3. If you can find me a Nvidia Graphics Card for a good price that would be great. The 660 ti is not that bad maybe not as good as the 670 but it is (to me anway) a lot cheaper.
The 7950 virtually curbstomps the 660 Ti, especially when high resolutions and levels of AA are used, and the 760 is a better choice than it if you bought it recently.
In the future I'll start a post on my computer because I shouldn't be talking about my computer in theskiptoops section.
Great. Now stop recommending your crappy build.
1. Thank you very much for telling me.
So let me get this straight. You bought a $300+ motherboard and CPU combo for overclocking without doing any research as to whether it can be overclocked or not?
In the future I'll start a post on my computer because I shouldn't be talking about my computer in theskiptoops section.
1. Thank you very much for telling me.
2. It sure did (but not for long)
3. Because I have had issues with AMD
4. Whatever
Thats my final post in this topic.
cya, Thanks for the constuctive critisim.
I realize you won't respond to this, but AMD has really improved in recent years. In fact, pretty much all 7000 series Radeon HD cards are better than nVidia 600 series cards and AMD's 7000 is pretty much on par with nVidias 700 series cards.
And realize that Radeon HD 7000 is last gen and nVidia 700 is current gen. AMD's next gen 9000 series cards are supposed to come out soon. And if the 7000 series is anything to go by, they will murder the 700 series.
I just realized that the case does not work with the motherboard. It says the case doesn't have front panel usb 3.0 ports.
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard has an onboard USB 3.0 header, but the Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case does not have front panel USB 3.0 ports.

Sorry I put it in the wrong place the first time
I have the money. I was going to try and get them cheaper though if I can.
prices fluxuate so much, and new products come out. you'd be better off getting it all at once
I think i'll do that then

Sorry I missed the case. Thanks for the help
He could buy a decent cooler with that $50, then OC the 8320 to 8350 levels. Lower noise and temps
