I just got my new Nexus 4 (16 GB) today, and its epic. The screen on it looks even better (IMO) than Apple's retina display, and the hardware is insane for a phone (2 GB of RAM, 1.5 GHz quad-core). Anyone else here planning on getting one?

that would be because it is better then their display, by a pretty fair bit, much higher res

I should be getting mine today (and about time too, considering I ordered it on November 27th), assuming the UPS guy doesn't dally.
Yeah, I ordered mine on the Nov. 28th, knowing full well it would take a long time. However, Google did deliver in the end, and within the time estimated on the page at the time.
Assuming they're still pointless in consumer-level PCs, why would they ever want to put them in phones? It'd certainly chew up a lot of battery.
Adding more cores is actually more battery friendly than increased clock speed. Reason being power consumption increases with the square of speed, but only linearly with core count. However it doesn't increase speed in applications that don't take advantage of the feature, it would improve multitasking to an extent.
How's the battery on it? It's either that or an S4 for me as soon as I can save up enough.

i5 4670k @ 4.9GHz - Stock Heatsink - The rest is melted silicon but I think I have a graphics card in there somewhere It surprises me how many people on this forum can't read benchmarks.
You don't need to have widgets or anything if you don't want to.
Which phone was that? No doubt it was piled high with carrier bloatware and other 3rd-party, extraneous crap, of which probably included an ugly skin. Unadulterated Android UI is definitely not crowded.
If anything, it's more spacious than iOS's home-screen, which, after having acquired lots of apps, becomes a cluttered grid of icons that are all the same shape, and in the end ends up looking slightly crowded. Of course, you could make folders to alleviate the problem. But hey, to each his own.
Well, thanks for that horrific display of fanboyism. I'm gonna go throw up.

ain't no fanboy like an android fanboy
It wasn't my phone, lol.
true, stock android (read, Nexus devices) are far, far, far better then any carrier crap that providers force them to install, so just because the android phone you used sucked, does not mean all do, at all. (our Nexus 4 is $350 off contract, your iphone starts at more then double that for off contract)

Well, it's a good thing I didn't buy it off contract. I would've gotten severely ripped off.

nexus 4 is still cheaper though, since there is 0 contract, your still paying the $700 for your phone since its part of your bill, the nexus 4 doesn't have that problem

Not quite. The company Adapteva has made a 64-core processor that runs on less than 2 watts, and now that people have discovered that molybdenite would be an even better replacement for silicon than graphene, mainly because it amplifies signals much better than graphene, and can literally be made to be 100,000 times more energy efficient than silicon. I'm not exaggerating.
The Nexus 4 looks great! Hope you like it
I got a Nexus 10 for christmas and its great (EXCEPT FOR THE LIGHT BLEED, due to case flexing [proven on xda])
android 4.2 is cool and its my first android experience with google now and the super duper screen at 2560 x 1600 (eat it retina tech :P)
Also, picture of the Nexus 4 for those who haven't seen one:

I said the same about quad core CPUs in phones a few years back >_<.

Uh, what?! You're going to have to explain that one.
With all the widgets and everything. I don't know, lol, I used an Android phone once and the home screens seemed really crowded.
And you're correct, the Tegra 3 sucked compared to its-gen competitors, despite having MOAR COORZ FOR TEH WIN LULZORZ!
It's a marketing gimmick, no more.
