Well more information has come out for Haswell.
It seems to just be throwing more GPU at the problem rather then Intel actually making a good GPU arch.
The GT3 just doubles the size over IvyBridges HD 4000. It also puts in 64MB built in memory.
Interesting. I wonder how this will compare to AMD's Piledriver.
Who cares?
AMD plans to have Steamroller in its APUs in a few months and have Excavtor APUs out in 2013.
Steamroller will be out months before Haswell based on current roadmaps by both companies.
Excavator will be out in APUs just a few months after Haswell. Desktop wise Excavator is supposed to be early 2014.

If there's one thing I like about AMD, it's their badass naming scheme

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.

Keep in mind integrated GPU's already do way more than they should. Running presentations and videos and crap doesn't take a superpowered video card. Realistically people only complain when they try to do stuff like game on them(which is NOT what they are designed for and why most prebuilts have integrated anyway.) I've noticed most people gaming on outdated PCs, whether through their fault or not, are basically trying to tug an aircraft carrier onto dry land with a pickup truck.
Energy efficiency means saving money on power, somewhat anyway.

Well AMD is pushing Integrated graphics for servers with HSA so the GPU can accelerate server apps. AMD is also capable of providing decent integrated graphics when Intel is not. This is why AMD is king at budget laptops.
I'm curious how they came up with naming them after construction equipment.
maybe it all started with Clawhammer and Sledgehammer, and them continuously naming each successor after a slightly larger and more powerful tool?
going the reverse direction, could have led to these:
Tackhammer;
Screwdriver;
Allen Wrench;
Stapler;
Staple Puller;
Nail Clipper;
Tweezers;
PaperClip;
...
I also read (on Tweakers.net (Dutch site)) that the iGPU on a Haswell CPU can run Skyrim at 1080p on high. That's pretty good.
I call ******** that would be a massive jump forward something along the lines of 400% performance increase. That is not going to happen from just doubling the amount of shaders and adding 64mb of onboard memory.

Any card can run it. Whether it runs it WELL is another argument completely.
In addition, Skyrim isn't that graphically demanding, and I severely doubt Intel would release an iGPU with more power than a 6850. The price of the chip would have to jump dramatically for that to be possible.

Neckbeards! Doctor Cichocki does not approve of stupidity and neither do I, stop the spread of damned useless rules!

The release date now is Q3-Q4 2013.
Intel seems to be focusing a lot more on energy efficiency rather then big massive performance.

Well the code names for the actually CPU cores is better.
Kaveri
Vishera
Orchi
Zacate
Where do they come up with these?

Some are names of big rivers or other land marks or other things.

Never heard of that and Intel already said its an IvyBridge GPU but they doubled the size of it.
