The point that I'm trying to make, is that Game Maker won't teach you anything. Even learning GML, it's not structured like normal programming languages.
This is total nonsense.
Game Maker may not teach you how to program a game in a true programming language, but making a game in it will certainly teach you quite a few things which are important to game design and making games.
I'm tired of hearing this nonsense repeated all the time.
OP; Good luck with your game, and the entire learning experience.
I also agree there is way, way too much contrast on the title screen... It's almost impossible to read anything there.

Because a small minority of indie games created with blocks will destroy the game industry... some people...
Uh oh, someone is a little jealous because they don't have a time machine..........
Of course I'm joking. I completely agree with you.
Honestly, I think a lot of people (the negative ones) on this section of the forum are a bit jealous that they can't make games themselves (even with Game Maker, or the likes) and so they feel they have to discourage everyone else who tries or can do so. What they seem to fail to realize is that most indie games are fun learning experiences, and very valuable to those who want to eventually make real games someday.
Otherwise they just like to repeat stuff like a parrot.... SQUAWK!
Way to name two virtual machines in an entirely unrelated sentence.
I had honestly never even heard of the two before... I had to guess which words in my sentence they were named after just to look them up on google...
...Completely unintentional. lol
It's quite funny how much Minecraft clones get made, it's killing the game industry with unoriginality.
by now saying this makes you ignorant. Minecraft has created a genre where pixely(or not) graphics and sandbox/survival using blocks is fun. The sooner you realize this the better off you'll be.
Look this: Brickrunner game - can be better than Creativia
It could be better, but right now it costs about $6.50 USD.
Creativia doesn't cost ANYTHING right now.
After its full release it will cost about $4.95 USD.
And Brickrunner after its full release? Almost $20.00 USD.
If you'd actually play the game, you'd see that there's actually some originality with Creativia. =D

THANK YOU. Finally someone agrees.

Now we get to the domain......
Here at picklehosting, we can get you a domain for an exremely cheap price (Say around 5 dollars).
Thanks for your feedback to the game.
But about the domain, I have a reason not to own one.
There already is a domain for:
creativia.com
creativia.org
creativia.net
The only one open is:
creativia.us
Why would I want .us?
And I know, I could just do:
creativiathegame.com
creativiathegame.org
creativiathegame.net
But still, I'm also in debt. People need to read earlier posts.
Why not get the .us?
It's unique, and it will still be called Creativia.
creativiathegame.com is a bit of a mouthful.
You didn't read the whole post. I can't buy a domain anyways because I'm in debt.
Thanks.
Thanks, but I won't follow your sig's directions

Okay, look, this thread wasn't meant to be for deciding which Minecraft "clone" is better.
So can we please stop mentioning Brickrunner?
Also, isn't it a little suspicious that both users who mentioned Brickrunner only has one post, and that one post was the one mentioning Brickrunner?
