hey guys,
i was planning on building a computer and i was wondering if this setup would be able to run minecraft on highest settings,
CPU: AMD Athlon II x3 450 tri core (4th core unlockable with motherboard) can overclock to 3.5 GHz from 3.2 GHz
motherboard: Asus M4N68T V2
video card: Geforce gtx-460 1Gb
with 4gb of ram (could possible get 8 Gb if necessary)

Yes, but I wouldn't count on unlocking the 4th core. It isn't a guaranteed feature, only a possibility.

Yes but I'd still get a better GPU and a better CPU to future proof the system.
Also where are you buying parts from?
Whats your budget?
Thanks for the answers guys,
i wasnt planning on unlocking the fourth core just if needed,
my budget is however long i can bare to wait to build it basically,
i plan to buy it all of amazon...
because i'm in the u.k and i couldnt find cheaper.
as far as graphics cards go i could get a geforce GT 520 at a push
which CPU would you reccomend for around 80 - 100 pounds (120 - 150 dollars)

I thought you were getting a gtx 460? The 460 is WAAAYYYYY better than the 520. There is no reason to get a 520 unless you just want something to replace the integrated graphics.

Sorry not 520... 550 typo ^^sorry i got myself confused from the start im planning on buying a GTx 550 TI not a 460 i dnt know why i typed 460 in my first comment
i'm aware that the 460 is better than the 550 like i said i dont know why i typed 460 in the first post,
i cant really afford the 460 at the moment prices have rocketed,
i was looking at the I3's
which would be better the 960T or an I3 ( i cant afford an I5 or i would have bought it allready)
Upon further thought, i have decided to up my budget
CPU: Intel i5 2500
GPU: Gibabyte GTX 560 OC Edition (could possible jump to a Ti if the improvement is worth it...)
Ram: 8Gb Corsair vengeance
Motherboard: no idea what to get... any ideas (around the 100 - 150 pounds sterling mark)?

looks good, and deffo get the 560ti over the regular 560, a good 10-15 fps difference in games in general, well worth the extra
brilliant ok so its worth it to get this over this ...?
and just so i know what i'm doing here (i'm new to pc builds) what makes the P8H67-M Pro stand out from the other motherboards in the price range?
So if i were to get the P8H67-M pro,
An Intel i5 2500
a Geforce Gtx 560 Ti
8Gb of corsair vengeance Ram
and the 650W GX
Would i have myself a half decent first gaming PC setup?
Sorry for my ignorance... as i said i'm new just learning :smile.gif:

It can also cause stability issues as well as other less-noticeable problems.

You would have enough.
It will be beyond enjoyable...

i'd go with the first one, it's more but 2 fans > 1 all the time with graphics cards, they just produce so dang much heat 2 is always better
