Hey guys Cyber_stormX2 here. I am going to get a laptop and I was wondering what you guys think. The Laptop I was thinking about getting an Acer - Aspire E Series 15.6" Laptop - 4GB Memory - 500GB Hard Drive Silky Silver (will include a link). What I am wondering is
A.) Is it fast?
B.) Can it run Minecraft and can it run Star Wars The Old Republic
C.) Can it run Minecraft and Star Wars The Old Republic without lagging
D.) Is it fast?
You can always go by the phrase you get what you pay for - If you are going to spend $250 on a laptop that is all you are going to get out of it. It is not a gaming laptop by far. This laptop is good for desktop applications - Word, Excel, Email - etc. . we have this exact laptop at work and we use it for our warehouse inventory.
Lets talk about the processor: Intel® Celeron® processor N2820
2.13GHz (with Intel® Burst up to 2.39GHz) This is a pretty slow processor if you want to game.
Will it run Minecraft? probably -
Will it run Minecraft without lagging - No
Graphics Intel® HD graphics Feature 64MB dedicated video memory - this is not even enough to run Minecraft by itself let alone anything else game wise.
Overall this laptop is not good for gaming - this laptop is mostly going to be good for surfing the web and thats about it.
I suggest to save up some more money so you can get a better laptop.
Acer Aspire V5-552-X814 would be a good choice

Intel HD Graphics can handle Minecraft at decent frame rate. And almost any game made before 2007. The main problem with this guy's laptop is the total RAM of the computer.

There was this old Toshiba laptop i used a couple of years ago with a single core processor (AMD V120 Processor 2.20GHz), 4GB of DDR2 Ram, and a impressive (lol) Mobility Radeon HD GPU.
It handed minecraft with at least 25-30FPS but you'd have to allocate 80% of your RAM through the jvm arguments which isn't hard to do anymore.
But to answer your question
I highly don't recommend it, that laptop made me rage.
EDIT:
It handled Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion at its max settings over 30FPS easily... I even went and added a Graphics extender mod for it and it still ran smooth on the fly.
