Friend1: Hey, what does RAM do (Legit question deserves legit answer)
Friend2: It makes your computer go faster
Friend3: Nah, it's just for multitasking
*Friend2 and Friend3 get into a spat while I explain to Friend1 what it's for^
Me: All right Friend3, well what's your computer?
Friend2: Oh, it's an alienware with an overclocked i7 32 GB of RAM and a GT 560 (Taken verbatim, not sure if GTX Ti or just trolling)
Friend3 and Me: *Facepalm*

i5 4670k @ 4.9GHz - Stock Heatsink - The rest is melted silicon but I think I have a graphics card in there somewhere It surprises me how many people on this forum can't read benchmarks.
I think i will win
this kid in my class said he got $10000 and is gonna spend it on dual 690's and some copperheads which he said cost 400 each
and my friend also said he has an i7-SBE overclocked to 4.3ghz and said he can overclock it to 5.0ghz with turbo boost.
also he has a 7970 and put it all in an alienware case from ebay

why the hell would you have turbo mode still on after OC'ing............

Please enlighten me?
Most people disable it when OCing.
However take an 8150 and lets say I can only get to about 4.5ghz on air without heat issues. Depending on the motherboard why not set the turbo to 4.7ghz assuming its stable to get more performance out of lightly threaded work loads.
Since i can't find the PC stupidities thread I'll just post this here...
Yesterday I was in one of the computer labs for a research project in west civ, I logged onto the computer and started up IE (ughh). After several minutes of dealing with choppy scrolling the screen went black followed by a notification about the graphics drivers crashing. ignoring the notification I continued my research, a few minutes later the same thing happened but this time I noticed that it said "the Intel graphics drivers for Windows Vista have crashed", note that the PC's use Win 7. Today I was sitting at a different computer and I noticed the same thing. Seriously, are the tech guys too f***ing retarded to install the right drivers? I could have told one of the teachers but they wouldn't understand no matter how I put it and would just write down something like "monitor problems"... Sigh...

Hmm, I'm pretty sure was a computer stupidity thread... or maybe that was it... I don't know anymore, nor do I care... They are all the same when you think about it...

My tech guys can at least install the right drivers...sadly, though, several computers have the Windows Explorer repeating crash problem. Not sure what they do to fix that, all I know is the computers just sit there and nobody uses them until they magically fix themselves.
Also, the school uses IE. Every time I click that E at school, I die a little on the inside. I also die on the inside every time i see an Apple product, HP, Alienware, Beats, Skullcandy, anything owned by those companies, or anything equally bad as those companies. I've seen so much of this **** I'm practically a hollow shell of a person by now.
EDIT: Luckily, though, the magic of friendship (and ponies) is what's keeping my final ounces of sanity preserved. It's just barely kept me alive.

Now you have me.

I think they deleted that thread, lol. Now he's on another guy's build, saying to get an Alienware.

"Alienware is the ONLY choice for good gaming PCs"
"Computers run faster if you have the thing outside of them"
And my favorite:
"I have an Antec computer"

THE STUPID ON THE THREAD, IT BURNS.
listen dont ask
That is a fair question for a person to ask.
Why wouldn't you?
It would let you get higher clocks after you hit the heat barrier for your cooler.
