You see, I posted a while ago that I was getting an alienware, but you guys recommended a Sager. (And by recommend I mean flame the **** out of the alienware). My brother thinks Sagers a pieces of junk that can't even run minecraft. He prefers Alienware because of the shiny lights and such. He won't listen to my arguements stating otherwise.
What are some arguments that can state otherwise, BUT can also make him listen.
Show him the Sager your looking at, then show him how much it would cost to get semi close to it with Alienware, then google alienware reseller reviews, it's gone down lately from 0.5 / 10 to 0.4 /10, always a good sign. Or, just google alienware melting, and the liquid cooling system leaking on their desktops, nothing says quality like sparks and fire
Just do what Wolley said. It is pretty much agreed among people who actually know about computers that Alienware is a terrible brand. Sager is a very good brand in addition to Lenovo and MSI.
Just buy the damn Sager. Ignore your brother, brothers are a pain in the ass.

I'm back from my eternal slumber of 2 or 3 months. A long-ass time.
Oh boy, visual basic. I can barely contain my excitement.Not.

Holy crap...I didn't realize how absolutely awful their rating on reseller reviews was. Definitely show that to your brother and then show him the rating for Sager. If he still thinks Alienware is better, just call him an idiot and move on.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.
the only thing i dislike about that image is that it seems to bash apple for things other manufactorers do aswell.
Foxconn for instance produces basicly everything for every major OEM, including dell, acer and toshiba.
Yeah, I remember how my old (2002-ish) motherboard proudly said "manufactured by Foxconn". I think most people hate Apple mainly because, let's be honest, there are quite a bit of arrogant Apple fanboys simply spouting nonsense, and saying that their Apple computer is inherently better than any Windows computer, 'proving' it by googling 'Windows error message' and showing all the image results to people to 'convince' them Windows is unstable and full of bugs.
The reality is that Apple sells quite nice products, although overpriced. A lot of people also seem to like the Mac OS. Personally I don't like it at all, it's way too distracting in my opinion, but hey, that's an opinion. What I want to say is that Apple as a company is not half as bad as some of its fanboys, although that goes for more or less everything 'supported' by fanboys. Well maybe except Alienware. I quite respect Apple for what they're doing, I mean, hell, they are brining new innovations to the people quite often, even if they are not specifically the ones who invented it. Alienware, on the other hand, is a company I'd avoid like the plague.
About Foxconn, well, let's be honest, not a single company has a 'clean slate' on these things. Perhaps they're thye worst, but I have the idea that Foxconn is more or less the unlucky company, which can now be freely pissed on by everybody who wants to. It's not as much about "What's the best company" as it's about "What's the least horrible company", I suppose.
foxconn is still "workers friendly" compared to sweat shops and coal mines in china. which have one of the harshest working conditions in the world.
Not to mention foxconns suicide rates are lower then the USA and UK.
Compared to the cost of living they almost get paid as much as a US citizen on minimum wage.

If you go by a % they actually DO get paid more than a US citizen on minimum wage.

They can if they apply for extra training they have the option to but if they don't I am pretty sure they make just under it.
"It now sits at 1,800 yuan per month, and can be raised a further 400 yuan, to 2,200 yuan, if employees pass a technical examination. By today's conversions, 1,800 yuan equates to just over $285, while 2,200 yuan is just under $350."
I can tell you that Alienware is not a good brand. They overheat really badly and the build quality is terrible. Laptops need big vents for high end cooling. Alienware doesn't have vents. Many times the CPU will fry up and so will the motherboard. The cooling on Alienware is far worse than HP, and I know how bad HP cooling is.

While made for desktops, it can easily apply to laptops as well (save for the top part).
Damn straight.

Can't forget the Alien head background. Also try printing out a small alien head and taping it to the back of the computer.
He'll never know the difference.
"wow, you got the alienware that doesn't look ridiculous! How much extra was it?"

Minimum wage in America is 7.23$ an hour.
I never said they got paid close to what Americans make.
I said compared to the living costs in the area.
