As I'm sure a good portion of you know, the Raspberry Pi will be coming out VERY soon (in less than hour). For those that do not know what it is, it is a $25 computer that you can fit in your pocket.
Specs:
CPU- ARM1176JZF-S core
GPU- Broadcom VideoCore IV Memory- 128 Megabytes/256 Megabytes (depending on the model) USB 2.0- 1/2 (depending on the model) Video outputs- Composite RCA, HDMI
Audio outputs- 3.5mm Jack, HDMI
Onboard storage- SD, MMC, SDIO card slot
Size- 85.60 x 53.98 mm (3.370 x 2.125 in) OS- Debian, Fedora, Arch Linux
Who will be getting one and what do you plan on doing with it? Me personally I will be using it for an FTP and VNC server.
Never heard of it till now, and even though it seems to be an interesting concept, 25$ for a computer seems just too good to be true. I can't see this doing anything substantial for me.

You could use it as a: media center, FTP, Web server, or file storage just to name a few uses.

You simply have no application for it.
I can definitely see myself buying a cheap screen, a laptop shell and shoving a keyboard/trackpad in there with the Pi.
Didn't say it was made for it, I said, I wonder what we can manage to run on it.
Sorry, just noticed your post... There is video of the creators playing doom on it somewhere. So we at least know it can play that, doubt Minecraft will even load on it though. D=
I guess it is good for people who are in a rough spot? I have never really had an issue with money, and as far as portability goes, I would rather just drag my desktop around in a LAN bag.

You missed the intended purpose for this by about a mile its not a cheap PC its not a standard computer its running an ARM cpu what most cellphones use.

That's not the point... The point is to be able to have a cheap device that you are not worried about messing up, and using it for tasks like a FTP server or a Seed Box... And next, read all the posts all the way through before, making a redundant post. I had asked What would you do if you got one.

I don't think I would use it if I got one, I would probably donate it to charity.

If I recall 256 MB of RAM was roughly what Everquest ran on back in the day.
Soon....
(i want one of these, make a nice HTPC)

It is not made for gaming... but you could run some emulators on it I bet.

Saves me from having to buy a $300 netbook.
Funny, I thought about doing something similar, but I think it will make a better FTP server.
Pirate box, IMO.

Shhhh, the FBI might hear... No but really that's another good use for it, to use it as a seed box. To be honest I didn't even think about that...
It was Quake III, I believe. Doom wouldn't have been impressive at all, that runs on bloody everything pretty much.

My bad, I forgot what it was. Not that I will really use it for playing games.
