I'm trying to fix my brother's computer with this Ip Address conflict. We have tried everything. Ever since we unplugged our router it keeps saying the error! PLEASE HELP AND FAST!
Make sure the computer is using DHCP and not static ip.
Control panel
network
Change adapter settings
Right click on icon that represents the active connection
hit properties
double click internet protocol version 4
make sure obtain ip automatically is highlighted
Check your IP Configuration by opening Command Prompt (Start, Run, CMD on Windows XP) (Start, type CMD, right click, run as admin on Windows 7/Vista)
type "ipconfig" without the quotes. Look for IPv4 address, it should be something like 192.168.1.XXX (XXX will be numbers). Check this on all the computers in the network.
