Well, i know i'll be using an i5 2500k along with a Radeon 6770, it meets my needs for now, no need to go higher. other then that i need help =p would like 8gb of ram, and a nice case (doesn't need a window, but this is winning for that at the moment) so any help you guys can offer would be appreciated :smile.gif:

Why even waste money on a 6770? Get a 6850 at least. My bad, for some reason I thought you said 6670. 6770 is fine. As for the case, get the HAF912. Its amazing. Get the cheapest RAM you can find. Ignore the speeds. They don't make a difference. For the mobo, get what you think you need. If you want USB3.0, SLI/xfire support, etc. then go for it but don't get it if you don't think you need it. Good brands include MSI, Asus, and Gigabyte. Others seem to like ASRock but personally I try to avoid it if possible. Hard drives are really expensive right now due to the Thailand floods so try to get a used/refurbished one. Maybe an SSD if your budget can fit that in.
that's a ton of my budget stuck on a case, granted the HAF series is great but i just don't think i would need one that expensive.
saw a set of 8gb G.Skill ripjaws for only $47, wasn't bad. harddrive i have covered, taking a 500gb WD caviar black from my media pc, it doesn't even have anything on it.

The HAF 912 is $20 cheaper than the one you posted.
Get this RAM. It may not be ricey but I dont think rice is worth $7, especially when it comes to RAM.

whoops my bad typed in wrong name on newegg for the case lol, yeah thats quite nice actually >.> also the ram looks like it would work, might not handle any OC'ing i may do but i don't think it will need it

I own an Asrock board, hasn't failed me yet. Good for lower prices and is one of the only companies to have PCI-E 3.0
anything you can do to improve the motherboard? i go to LAN party's a fair amount and that case will work perfectly for my needs, same goes for the power supply though it might change to a 750 watt for some headroom. OS is windows 7, what? cpu i chose because i plan on overclocking and it will be much easier to get to 4ghz or higher with bulldozer then a 955 black edition, and a 975 is more then bulldozer also they seem to run cooler.

Mobo - Terrible. Try to stay away from Micro if you can. (You can, especially with that budget.)
Case - Eh if you reallllllllllly want it
PSU - Way too expensive
OS - $100 too expensive
CPU - Bulldozer is trash. Save yourself a little bit of money and just get the 955. Or go with a 2500k (and a new mobo).
Only reason i really chose that particular version of Windows 7 was because if i use system builder and the motherboard goes in some horrific accident i would be able to reinstall the OS without having to re-buy it
think you could redo what needs to be redone? i would like the micro atx size just for the portability of it, also it still needs to be around $800-$850, i dont plan on getting this until HDD prices drop again.

If you pay $100 for an OS and an accident happens, you should damn well be able to reinstall it for free.
I don't care what forum rules say, use the Windows 7 Repository if any accident happens. If you are questioning "piracy" morally, think about it this way: You already paid for the OS. You should be able to use it. If you question it legally, don't worry. Microsoft doesn't really care if you pirate their operating systems so you won't get into any trouble.

well from what i understand the system builder OEM packs are for lack of a better word locked to that motherboard, if it dies the os goes down with it from what i understand

Thinking about coming a mod to simply not moderate.
went over budget only because of flooding, any opinions?

>micro atx
choose one.
Portability lies with the case, not the Mobo. If a standard ATX mobo (and other parts) fit in the case, its just as portable as a microATX mobo.
