That should be good. However, I would suggest switching to a gigabyte motherboard (that's a brandname, I'm not stupid), as they have much better reviews than Asus does. I would also suggest ab AMD processor, much cheaper and still just as good. Nice choice, the coolermaster tower.... they do good work :smile.gif:
I would also HIGHLY recommend an AMD Radeon Hd card of some type, as I've heard from some friends that GeForce video cards have a huge amount of trouble running minecraft, which I will assume you play since this is on the minecraft forum.
You probably won't have any problems, you chose some good parts there. I'm just disgustingly paranoid and OCD about my pcs.
TL;DR that's a really nice setup you got planned there
You will of course have to get a compatible motherboard.
^^what this guys said. I'm sure you can find a significantly better cpu for not so much more money. Look for a sandybridge processor if you want a better processor, they are pretty sweet

Asus is the #1 brand for Mobos. That, MSI, Gigabyte, and (according to TheFiendz or whatever the hell his name is) ASRock are the only Mobo brands you should trust but I would trust them in the order that I listed them in.

Nothing wrong with Nvidia video cards ive ran both in my desktop with little to no issue with either running minecraft or any modern game.

Like the other guy said, Nvidia cards are fine. In fact, they are better in most cases. Besides, minecraft relies heavily on the CPU, not the video card. In fact, I had a computer with integrated graphics but an old i5 processor and I could run MC perfectly.

If you are trying to save money by going for the lower spec'd one pick a different motherboard and a Phenom II x4.

Which one if these motherboards would go better with that cpu?
