@OneWingedPie - You should make sure you warn people that your post is a huge spoiler alert! Kind of... Also, are you saying that you don't like the show or find it sad in any way?
You realize I do as well. Most of the main stream shows I don't watch up there however put them in being we're try to please everyone and not just the fans who watch anime with a passion like us.
As i've said before, someone else can either make one and we can see if we all like it, or I can make a new one when I get back from up north and use the anime shows that we want. Just a suggestion.
On a lighter note. Started to watch Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru!, which is ok but really not sure how far i'll get into it.. Also anyone else excited for Sora no Otoshimono S3? I knew there was going to be another one because of the manga, however still happy that there will be one at least.
I'll agree on one front, lengthy super-series today are generally appalling, but I'd hope that we can agree that when it first started, Naruto was pretty awesome...? Naruto is not timeless, and has degraded over the years, as most super-series do... (What in the hell is Dragon Ball GT... honestly?!) but when it first debuted... it was at least watchable. I maintain that the Haku Zabuza arc was the greatest in the series. I've noticed that people who started watching when the dubbed version came out often have a different opinion... Not sure why, but I was wondering which version you guys started with...

I'd agree with that. For example, for Naruto I saw a few of the dubbed versions and to be honest wasn't that bad at all. I got into it and watched it for a few seasons till I just stopped with the dubs and watched it with subtitles as they were already out in Japan before in America anyway. The same goes for DBZ or other shows like that. Just really lost interest in those as they became less of a show and more just to get profit from and having no real ending to them.
An update as well for Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru!. It's pretty much a cliche harem situation with 5 girls who are after a young gentlemen who's father died and left him his large corporation. I didn't think i'd get into it but I went for it anyway as I said before in my other post. I have to say that it is enjoyable as it has good potential for a dramatic and plot driven story with some chiche but still good humor. The animation quality is also something I really like but I don't really like that the girls have to constantly blush or have sparkles in there eyes :/.
Yuru Yuri is a comedy about four girls who have an "amusement club" or something to that effect. Just hanging out having fun. It's a yuri anime, hence the name, but it's not a serious show. It's not like hot and heavy girl on girl action or anything. Pretty funny show IMO. Silly, but amusing. Not ecchi at all, if you are wary of yuri because of some sort of sexual angle.
I just signed up for Crunchyroll too, but haven't checked the site out yet. I was at Otakon and they were giving free tshirts to people who signed up, lol. I tend to prefer downloading videos because waiting for buffering sucks and I don't want to be out of content if the internet is down but I figured I'll still sign up so I can at least be sending some money to the industry
Decided to watch some older shows that I haven't seen in awhile. Marathoned Chobits last night, that show is great. Planning on watching the some Kimagure Orange Road today and maybe Dangaioh, but I am really not into mecha as much as I was when I first saw that one (I was 14, I'm now 37 lol)
What do you mean?
I just tried out Crunchy Roll for the first time....its better than I thought it would be. As I said a few pages back, I usually use Youtube to watch stuff. Although, I like dubs about the same as Subs.
Now, I need to figure out if crunchy roll will work on my phone...
Is that the thing about like Italy and Germany being people?
Starting to watch Yuru Yuri S1 on Crunchy Roll. Wish me luck!
One of the first senetences: 'Im a bit of a spaz'
And of course, the theme song shows some perverted pictures. Now I see why everyone is so into Yuru Yuri.
And the main characters sister is a paedo. This will be fun anime to watch.
I'm actually enjoying this. The blonde one is perverted, the black haired one is sarcastic and Akira is just one of those cute characters that knows nothing.
So what? It's better than downloading and getting a virus on your computer. Youtube is streaming yet I bet you've been on at least once.
Also, no.
Akari!
And now the anime broke the fourth wall. - _ -
Viruses? Where are you getting anything that you get viruses? In all my time downloading stuff, I've yet to get anything that has a virus. I'm curious if you can even put something malicious into a mkv.
And Youtube streaming is different. There's no other place to get the content being offered on youtube. If I could get the content on youtube off of another source that isn't streaming, I would use that.
Eh? Crunchyroll at least pays license fees, so you don't need to feel bad streaming from there. Of course, if CR streams are anything like Youtube streams I'd feel bad about having to watch that level of quality lol.
Nah, its not because its Yuri that I'm weary of it. I'm weary of the fact it might be, as you said, heavy Yuri.
You were wary not weary of it Weary is like, oh, One Piece. I like it, but after 500+ episodes I've become a little weary of the freaking annoying overused "stupid laugh" comedic device lol. Also WTH happened to devil fruit powers being rare? In the first few eps it was a big deal, now it's like everyone has powers heh.
And the main characters sister is a paedo. This will be fun anime to watch.
Actually, Chinatsu is only one year younger than Kyouko. That's not pedo when they are that close in age. Pedo would be if someone my age lusted after Chinatsu, lol.
Viruses? Where are you getting anything that you get viruses? In all my time downloading stuff, I've yet to get anything that has a virus. I'm curious if you can even put something malicious into a mkv.
Yea, video files are not virus threats. More likely, people who get viruses downloading videos get them because they get suckered into clicking the wrong things on malicious websites.
And Youtube streaming is different. There's no other place to get the content being offered on youtube. If I could get the content on youtube off of another source that isn't streaming, I would use that.
Just out of curiority, what content is there on YT that cannot be found elsewhere? Usually if something has been subbed, it's out there in file form somewhere.
I'm bored waiting for my tacos to cook, hehe, so I figured I'd write out some of the shows I thought were good and worth recommending. I'll try to avoid listing what I think is the obvious, popular stuff like Lucky Star, Haruhi, Madoka Magica, etc:
Ah My Goddess: Romance/comedy about a guy who talks to a goddess, gets a wish and wishes for the goddess to stay with him. I love how detailed they drew Keiichi's bimmer in this (looks like he rides an old BMW R75/5 or similar)
(of course, after saying that I start with AMG of all things lol)
Allison to Lillia: Adventure/romance about two countries at war. I like how the show's perspective shifts halfway through.
Angelic Layer: A proxy battle show where little dolls battle it out. Not usually a big fan of these (proxy battles), but I liked this one.
Black Lagoon: Adventure/action with a Japanese salaryman and a no-holds-barred gun slinging girl in daisy dukes lol. If you're a kid, parents won't like the language in this show
Bubblegum Crisis: Older title with a team of four vigilante ladies in powered armor
Detroit Metal City: Hilarious comedy about an effeminate guy who just happens to be the frontman for a death metal group
ef - A Tale of Memories/Melodies: Cool show about a girl with anterograde amnesia. Melodies in the same setting but about diff characters. Drama/romance aspects
Gokusen: Great Teacher Onizuka, but with a girl teacher instead of a dude, and instead of the teacher being an ex-bosozoku, the teacher is a current yakuza.
Itazura na Kiss: Romance. I like it because unlike many romances, it doesn't stop at the protagonist hookup it continues on into their life beyond.
Kaleido Star: One of those feel-good "you can do it!" shows about acrobatics
Kamisama Kazoku: Story about god's son living amongst humans to learn about us and the angel girl assigned to watch over him
Karin: Story about a boy who finds out a girl is a vampire, but she's a backwards vampire (she produces blood, rather than needs it)
Kaze no Stigma: Action/fantasy/romance. Protagonist + tsundere romantic lead, but for once the guy opposite the tsundere isn't a spineless wimp, he's a cool, bad ass mo'fo
Kimagure Orange Road: IMO, the King of the love polygons hehe
La Corda d'Oro: School girl finds magic violin that makes her play awesome. Lots of cool classic music
Lovely Complex: Romance/school/comedy between a chibi dude and a tall girl
Midori no Hibi: Bizarre but funny comedy about a girl who has a crush on a guy, then one day awakens as his new right hand. Warning, I think it has brief nudity in a few spots.
Moonlight Mile: Action/drama about two guys who want to get to the moon and go about it different ways. Warning, has some scenes (not very often though) that would make your parents unhappy if they saw you watching lol.
Saiunkoku Monogatari: Period romance/drama about a girl who has aspriations to government service
Seitokai Yakuindomo: Very funny sexual-comedy. Not hentai or anything, just funny sex-based humor
Shinryaku! Ika Musume: The cutest invader the earth has even seen
Spice & Wolf: A trader picks up a stowaway goddess after passing through a small town
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0: A pair of kids experience an earthquake and try to make their way home in the aftermath
Yomigaeru Sora: The trials/tribulations of a man who becomes a helicopter rescue pilot
You're Under Arrest: Follows the day to day lives of two traffic police women and all the situations they get into
Zipang: A modern day JMSDF cruiser gets sent back in time to WWII and the crew have to decide whether or not to intervene in the war

So you just have to deal with their subs.
I'm not talking about watching anime on Youtube, I'm talking about all the other stuff. 5sf, Blunty, song covers, SecretAgentBob etc.
iI watched a few episodes of Panty and Stocking. It didnt interest mme at all, prrobably because of Pantiys obsession of sleeping with mmen or the fact that the blac priest is, again, a bit of paedo. Im starting to notice a patterrn in the anime I watch . Damn my touch phone!
BWHAHAHAHA! The girl with glasses having nose bleeds all the time xD
Ya, Panty is a ho and the priest is a paedo, but the homages/parodies of American pop culture was pretty funny.
Speaking of pervy anime, I don't mind a little fan service but sometimes it gets annoying when they beat you upside the head with it. I tried to watch Strike Witches, and in the first part of the first episode they are showing teenage girls in some sort of fighting gear with uniform tops and panties. If that isn't silly enough, every time they fly by the camera they take pains to stage shots to highlight the aforementioned panties lol. Good example of the beat-upside-the-head fanservice I mean.
Anyone watch Idolmaster? Just watched the first ep. What a load of names/faces to remember, hehe, but at least not as much as Negima I wish the game was available in English.

I saw that, but if I'm understanding the page properly it's just focused on Haruka, Yayoi and Makoto. Namco needs to port the full Xbox 1 & 2 versions.. or I need to learn Japanese lol.

So I'm not the only one...
<- Please. ._.
Are either of those things bad?

I mean exactly what I said.
Streaming is bad and you should feel bad.
Akira?

I started it, watched the first 10 episodes of so. Didn't really grab me, but I found it amusing. I'll probably continue it at some point.

What to watch next...
...
All the manga series I read either ended or where dropped by the people scanning and/or translating them.
...
End of Panty and Stocking s1:
OMGWHATTHE**** WASNOTEXPECTINGTHAT
Ya, Panty is a ho and the priest is a paedo, but the homages/parodies of American pop culture was pretty funny.
I like when people do seiyuu jokes like that
Yeah, me too.
