Excellent work! I haven't really spent to much time with Cube World yet, because the gameplay isn't really refined yet. If you can somehow make the character customization include other animals that would be awesome!
Also are you guys are just starting highschool? My first college classes start the 26th.
Thank you much! My only reason for not playing it recently, is the lack of optimization. I have no problems with the gameplay, I've put many hours into it. But I have a 2500$ computer, and the fan sounds like a vacuum upon the game's start up, so I've been sticking away from it until Wollay updates again.
I'm going into my second year of high school some time early September.
Rawr! Haven't been posting for a while, work and whatnot's been somewhat hectic and I just haven't had much to say.
Mostly been watching Foxenawolf's art streams at around 6pm Central, though she sometimes does stuff of a more mature level than I think some of you little ones can handle. I've also been trying to help Falvie get her commission list back on track, but without consistent means of contact that can be a little difficult...
Beyond that, just saving up for a car so no arts for me
I'm going off to college in 10 days. I'm gonna miss the only other furry I ever met in real life D: How does one find other furries anyway? We were already friends for a while before I discovered his furryness, so I have no idea how furs meet up, except at conventions.
EDIT: Those are very nice sketches you have there Muffin.
Isn't the internet enough? I don't understand why you would want to physically meet someone.
Ookay... best thing to happen this weekend: I was digging around in an old box in storage and I found Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 just lying around in there. Not even sure where that came from, but I just saved 90-100$.
On another note: High School is f***ing awesome!
GIMP is still free. I'll mirror the 2.6.12 version if you want me too, since it's better in various ways.
I've been working on this for four days. Although I didn't touch it for days numbers two and three. It's another representation of Kaii, and her world.
"Kaii, Princess of the Skyrianic tribes."
Her tribe, or species, were first called Skyrians. Then, the Skyric people. But then I thought about it, and the Nordic people were called Nords. It didn't feel right calling her people "Skys" or "Skies" so I combined the two. "Skyrianic" was born. This is the first time I've actually illustrated Kaii's snout, aside from any side profile drawings I've made. I'm happy with how.. her entire body turned out. She's grabbing onto a root from the bottom of a floating continent, her right leg (not shown) supporting her, her left leg simply hanging, along with her left arm.
On Skyria, the Sun and Moon are always visible during the day time. (If anyone is wondering what that circle of swiss cheese is on the right, that's the moon.)
You can see a few other continents in the distance, all gargantuan in size, some bigger than others. What I really wanted to show, was the size of one of the native Sky Serpents, called "Ancient Wanderers". (You can see it's size, scaled behind an entire continent in the distance.)
Colours will come later, and so far I'm rather proud of it.
Not wanting to quote that whole thing; Travuersa, most of this is to you:
I already have GIMP version 2.8.6, in fact that is what I primarily use; and hasn't it always been free? Also, would you mind telling me how you 'normalized' those drawings and what program you used? All of my work is hand done ,however, I do edit so that it looks good on a screen as well. My biggest problem is making the colouring look better (solid) in the computer; I use colour pencils and I don't like how patchy it looks. I know I could get Prismacolor pencils, but let's be honest, how many of you are caring around 180$ for colour pencils? If anyone can help me out and give me a walk through or something on how to do that, it would be greatly appreciated.
I apologize for being all shifty and secretive on what I am doing, but everything is kinda floating around right now. I am making a webcomic (that has yet to be named) , and by the looks of things right now, I should be launching around mid September to mid November, so I'll try to keep you guys updated.
To SpartanDoesAcid:
The way I draw hands is by first studying my own.
I put my hand in the position that I want to draw, and
note some details. I put a light sketch on the paper,
and when I am satisfied with it, I add details.
Step by Step Example:
I put my hand in the position I choose.
Then I get a light sketch down.
Then I add a few details and darken the lines.
And I finish it by smoothing out rough edges, and
maybe lighten some of the lines on the palm and fingers.
(And due to the fact that this is a furry art thread, I add claws)
(Sorry about picture quality... I'm using a phone to take
pictures, and I'm not too good at editing images.)

Yes.

GIMP 2.6.12 (although I imagine it's basically the same on 2.8.6)
Colors -> auto -> normalize (turns the brightest bit into white and the darkest bit into black);
or you can do manually, which is what I did. You can tune the result a bit better, but it takes more time:
Colors -> brightness-contrast -> Edit these settings as levels -> Mess with the sliders.

Well, you can do what I do, which is create a bunch of paths and have them draw new black lines on an alpha layer, and then use the magic wand (aa off, threshold = 254) to select the areas you want to color. Then paste the color on a new alpha layer. The color layer should be under the lines layer.
Alternatively, you could go over your pencil lines with a black marker (felt tipped preferably), desaturate your scan (Colors -> desaturate), and then increase the contrast and decrease the brightness equally (Colors -> brightness-contrast) until basically only your lines are left.
Copy this layer and make a new layer of all black. Right click this layer and "add layer mask". Paste your lines layer and invert its colors (Colors -> invert). Anchor the paste, right click the black layer, and select "apply layer mask".
This creates a layer of just lines that you can now use the magic wand (aa on, threshold depends on the selection) to select the black areas as described above.
My third year of high school (11th grade) starts on September 3rd.
Also, I forgot to mention it in the thread, It was my birthday about a week ago (the 8th).
Now that I'm 16, I can go for a drivers license.
I'll be form 6/year 12 before I can.
In other news, I'm working on a different fursona. The face will be partially covered by a cap, so I shouldn't worry too much.
Congrats on 16, and September 3rd is my birthday!
March 29th.
I have it a day earlier as NZ experiences a new day first.
Wouldn't it be easier to have it in a Vitruvian man-style drawing (or at least diagrams)?
I'm not going for a realistic style and I'm not drawing a human so not really. This is the style I've always used as a base.

I feel bad. Disappointed.
Probably something wrong with the head... spent half an hour on it, and it still doesn't work.
Why do you feel bad? It's pretty good!
Then again, there's something off about all my artworks.

I keep forgetting how young everyone is on the internet...
The head is too small. I always try to keep a cartoony feel with my drawings, and a large head fulfills that theme.
Also, if you don't already, draw really big. Your character should take up the whole paper.
Creepy, soulless eyes and medieval perspective are optional.
Cropped and normalized for clarity.

How do you do the hands? Every time I try to draw hands or arms in general I fail miserably.
Here's something I made out of boredom.
And here's this monstrosity.
Look at the hand! It's horrible! Partly because I drew the picture quickly in pen but still.
The way I draw hands is by first studying my own.
