next-gen has arrived! with all hooray's and cool consoles hoora....but....what about nintendo?
so far sony and microsoft seem that they are trying to master each other, but what about nintendo?
they made the WiiU, an awesome gaming device with a lot of original games.
i mean...why buy that new PS4 that will end up like the PS3 (though they did make cool games for PS4 like knack) it seemed the PS3 was used for FPS games only, almost every single game, you get a gun and start shooting for competition, sure its fun, i also like it.
But when a new Zelda game arrives, pikmin 3, or that new super mario, theirs no discussing what i want.
the WiiU, is an excelent platform for original games.
but the main problem is, is that with all that PS4 and Xbone stuff, nintendo just cant push its way through.
i want to know what you all guys think about this and what nintendo should do about this.

If I buy one of the new consoles, It's going to be the Wii U. Super Mario 3D World looks like the most accurate spiritual successor and 3-D incarnation of the Early Super Mario Brothers games, and is one of the first Console games for any system that I've actually wanted to play. Even GTA V did not really have that honour.
How many Gigahertz, CPU Cores, RAM, and other technical specifications of a Console never impress me. If I want to dazzle myself with unnecessarily large numbers, I'll spend my money on a super PC build. Neither the PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, or XBox One's offerings have been interesting enough for me to drop the required dollars- the Wii U and the mentioned Mario 3D Land game however captured my attention. The other possible games- and possible remakes- of the other franchises are also an interesting concept. Imagine a Super Mario All Stars, or Super Metroid, or any one of their classic franchise games where the 2-D scrolling games are made into psuedo-3D side-scrollers like New Super Mario Brothers, but keep the same game mechanics as their originals, as well as innumerable extras. Seeing the Courses with which I have become so familiar with over the years from replaying the games come to life in psuedo 3-D would be squee worthy.
I can also 'disguise' it as a late Christmas present to my Mom, who wants a Wii for Wii Sports for some reason, and the Wii U is backwards compatible.
The Wii U is pretty expensive. I know, it's been out for a year, compared to the Xbox One and Playstation 4, both of which have been out for like a month already. I might get one so I can play the upcoming Zelda Wii U game, but that won't be for like over a year.
The only next-gen console I really want to get is the Wii-U hyrule warriors looks awesome...
It looks awesome, but the idea is crap. Dynasty Warriors is ridiculously repetitive, and if the trailer says anything, it'll be the same. Hopefully Nintendo comes to their senses and actually requires you to have a strategy.
Anyways, give the Wii U a year. Then we'll talk as the 1st party titles will be out.

to honest the wii u has a better chance at living than xbox one and ps4 as its not relying on over things like TV movies
its a sole game's console that plays games as i think is what a game console is meant to do
But the Wii U also provides internet services just like the PS4 and Xbox One... in this day of age a console that doesn't have any capability beyond playing games is pointless and a oversight since a phone can do everything now days.
MS made the mistake and made such additional uses their main focus at least it seemed when it was annouced and still going strong allowing Sony to punch them in the "we game first do 'that' later ads"

i hope your saying that as a joke cause if any one is going to live it would be the ouya nah it would be ps4 it destroys wii u
i think we should all use common sense and logic when we answer and ask a question but always stay open minded
just cause science fails to explain something does not mean its real (afterlife, big foot, ghosts etc..) does not mean its fake try to stay opened mined instead of closed
am staying away from the wii u right now am with ps4 and xbone

it seems that you have never tried a wiiU and now hating nintendo just because that if you think that you hate the WiiU it will give you a better gaming expierince on your PS4 thinking that you didnt want anything else.
i think the WiiU is a optimal console, because at least nintendo, unlike sony and microsoft tries to be original, not making repetitive boring games where you just shoot people for competition. nintendo made fantastic series like the legend of Zelda, pikmin, and many more.
now tell me what game has sony done (except "knack" and "rachet and clank") that are original...c mon, so far they are borinlgy focused on FPS and MMS.
i repeat that to me sony isnt pulling out their ace and is just promoting the same games every year, same microsoft.
Nintendo instead has done more, sure they sometimes do some repetitive games, but they come out once every 2-4 years, and they are intelligent, if they see a game is fun, they dont change it, a perfect example is pokemon, they saw that a lot of people love it how it is right now, so they didnt change it at all, they put some new pokemon but except that they just put more story and space, mabey made the region bigger but not much.
i would sell my PS3 to get a WiiU, and wouldnt care about ps4.

buddy am going to be honest with you. ya i dont like the wii u but all my child hood memories i had a gba and its still my favorite system i have to date i still play it once a week. next if you dont know but the wii u sucks in sales right now look at the ps4 or xbone they are the ones who will survive maybe because the wii u is really last gen system 7 years late.
next you want some good sony games will, shadow of colossus one of the best games in the 6th gen, i dont know if you like gta or not but that game started out only on ps1 so with out sony no gta v, the last of us i dont think there was every a mushroom zombie game like it before. and again many sony only games are improved on the ideas they took. but atleast we dont see kill zone party8 or new uncharted bros 2

In my opinion, Wii U=Nintendo's biggest fail. I like Nintendo's other consoles, like the 3DS or the N64. I wish they would remake Majora for thw 3DS, though.
People are still saying that and holding that opinion about Windows 8 despite Windows 8 Retail sales surpassing Windows 7 numbers within 6 months of release.
I'm not apt to consider such opinions based on fact as much as hopeful whimsy.
OK I had a go of Nintendo Land on my friends Wii U and it is the best party game (besides some New Super Mario Bros. U. or any of the other NSMB games)
The hub world makes the game feel like more then a quick game with friends and the originality of some of them you don't even have to play them properly
Sadly I'm not much of a Nintendo Wii/U person, Nor Am I a Console person (Though with Steam and Internet requirements put in place I think I might become one. I am stuck with an overpriced Mobile internet, As cool as living in a rural area is, Internet sucks around here!)
I have a few consoles and devices (All in my Sig)
I just feel that the Wii doesn't live up to me. However the Wii can play classic games using that online thing and browse the web I do not care about the extras that the xbox and ps offer.
I will also agree that Sony and Microsoft (Well mainly Microsoft with the Xbox) are "doushebags" I mean just look at what they tried with the Xbox One earlier this year! Sony tends to keep gaming to it's former glory. The Wii and Wii U just doesn't get me like other.
Now I am stuck in the 3-5 Year behind group (as most people are) I got my PlayStation 2 (which still kicks ass today) that was when the PlayStation 3 was at full price. Now I could get the PS3 if I wanted.
What I will do next is up to time, For now I spend my Holidays on my PC (with some exercise as well!) While my brother is the "Xbox Hog" (these type of people are dreaded in After School Care's and in Public areas with consoles in there play rooms)
I have been meaning to dump my PS2's BIOS and play some PS2 game on my PC it hasn't happened yet.
I am also loving my new Android tablet, Which considering my MacBooks HDD is about to die it is has been excellent!

The way I see it, sony and microsoft are literally at war with each other, trying to match specs, games, etc, all while fanboys are fighting over which one is best....in the aftermath, people will probably be left with one console, the unfavoured one discarded or never purchased to begin with.
It makes sense, why would you buy something you already have, or give up the good one for a crap one? So you can't expect to stick the same type of console in and expect to "win", the only other options are to offer something better (but as specs go up so does the price, and if the price drops for such specs they'll be upgrading too) or something they don't have. Let's go with B, and we have nintendo.
It has a ton of exclusives and IPs that will keep them afloat for years. Interesting types of gameplay that they try their hardest to make inviovative, even when it leads to an occasional hiccup like the virtual boy. It's weaker, but it's different. You buy your xbox or playstation for the newest AAA game, with a wii beside it for playing mario kart when your friends come over, or feel like doing a bit of exercise, or maybe you even feel like trying said AAA game with weaker graphics to try the different controllers.
You don't need to have the strongest specs or the prettiest games. You just need to give people a reason to want it as well. Which would net you more variety of games, and in the end, fun? A playstation and an xbox? Or one of the two and a wii u? It's a smart tactic, it worked well enough last gen so...
